It's open! Anyone been there? How is the food and service?

Ate there yesterday. Service was friendly and fast. They shorted us one french fry. Circled back through the drive thru. Was handed a bag with more than an order of fries and an apology. Food was typical of McDonalds. It was fresh and hot.

Hadn’t been to a McDonalds in about 4 years. Was a little surprised at the price. A Big Mac meal and a 1/4 Pounder meal came to right at $18.

They also placed a flyer in each bag stating they were hiring at $13-$18 per hour with up to 2,500 of tuition assistance.

I think I’ll go to Five Guys for my fast food burger fix at those prices.

I went Sunday morning on the way to Lowlands. Picked up a couple of breakfast burritos and I was on my way. Typical McDonalds food fast and hot. This was at about 6:50am so I wasn't expecting a line.

Since I drive by it most days, it's had lines since it opened on Friday. We'll see how it does after the newness wears off.

I'm betting you haven't been to Five Guys recently if you think 2 people can get similar quantities of food and drink for $18.00

A cheeseburger, fries and drink at Five Guys is $18.70.

A burger at 5 guys is $10.

Apparently you haven’t been tracking the news on inflation. Work at McDonalds for $18 and hour and tuition assistance; that’s called a HUGE increase in labor costs since the 70s.

He said a meal (burger fries and a drink). He got two meals at McD’s for $18. A single meal deal at 5 Guys is just shy of $19

He seems to be doing this all the time these days.

I know what you meant about being shorted one fry, but I've received skimpy amounts and generous amounts on the past for the same sized order. So I wonder what the company formula is.

Wow. Had no idea. It’s been awhile since we’ve eaten there too. We don’t eat fast food often but my wife just had a knee replacement and was getting cabin fever. So I took her for a little ride. lol

Nope haven’t been to Five Guys in awhile either. lol

We would rather spend the extra money and have a nice sit down meal at a nice place.

I grill a lot and use my smoker often. It’s hard justifying fast food when what I or my wife cook is much better.

If you were short on McDs fry, check between your seat. The ones you dropped 4 years ago, will look exactly the same as the ones you drop today

Makes the $12.99 double cheeseburger with fries and a beer deal on Tuesdays at some of the country clubs look like even more of a bargain.

Don't complain about tge cost of meals if you supported $15/hr minimum wage.

You may get one meal at Five guys for $18.

You can eat much cheaper, as well as better and healthier, at Amerikanos.

No burgers, of course.

What tuition? Isn't the "new" America tuition free or pledged/donated in a star's world?

The price of the food has gone up just like everything else so not shocked at all. If they ever bring back $0.39/$0.49 (hamburger/cheeseburger) the place would be slammed. Oh the good old days.

At those prices, many of us would return if we were shorted even one French fry. But how many fries are in that size? Did he count them all? No cheating? He didn’t eat one?

Last time I was at Five Guys guys two burgers and a fry was $30.

That is so true. I never ate their fries again after finding them in the car some time later.

$28+ last week at Five Guys for two junior burgers, small French Fries and a soda.

Reheating in microwave kills any critters on them, and the fries are good to go again.:icon_wink:

I’ve been in the drive through line twice this week and found the operation to be very smooth. They move everybody through very fast. The help is polite and obviously well trained. The food was hot and was not reheated. Most of us old farts are glad to see McDonalds in the neighborhood - we aren’t expecting a great dining experience, just a decent, quick meal.

I went Saturday. Service was good and the food is just like any other McDonalds.

Hope your wife has a speedy recovery from her knee surgery.

It's McDonalds, much lower expectation compared to 40 years ago. Use to be you could count on a friendly smile, decent burger, shake machines that worked and CLEAN restrooms.

Toto, are we still in California? $$$

It's a McDonalds people. Get a life!

Burgers grilled at home. Soooo much better.
