BlueFin in Brownwood. Last week I had the pan seared sea bass with a Thai reduction over wild mushroom risotto and parmesan cheese. One of the best entrée's I have ever eaten.

St. Johns on 27/441 is good reasonably sea food and 0 ambiance. Not recommended for an anniversary.

Agreed. If you like Salmon we like the way Longhorn does it.

LOL. If St. John's has zero ambiance, what does O'Shuck's have?

Outside, tons and tons of mosquitoes. Food was very good but could not wait to leave

You may not have met their dress code for indoor dining.

I know some nice sea food places, but they're for birthdays....not anniversary's. Sorry.

What if your birthday is the same as your anniversary? Asking for a friend

Papa_lecki 06-27-2022 02:45 PM

Blu Fin in Brownwood is the best.

DO NOT go to Light House Point in LSL.

If you look in the dictionary for less than zero ambiance you will see a picture of O<Shucks

pauld315 06-27-2022 06:15 PM

Mark's Prime, Harry's or Stirrup's in Ocala. Closer to TV I highly recommend Lopez Legacy

tophcfa 06-27-2022 07:47 PM

Blue Fin number one, Bonefish number two, there really is no number three unless you leave the golf cart home and take a car.

HeleneGB 06-28-2022 04:52 AM

Bluefin in Brownwood.
Bonefish Grill on the 466.

Try Eaton Beach in Weirsdale. It is just barely north of the Villages right on Lake Weir. Great atmosphere and decor, very good food.

They need to rename that place: SHACK O'SHUCKS. Great seafood though.

Take a leisurely drive over to Crystal River. Go south on 19. Drive out on Ozello Road to Pecks. Right on the water. Lots of fresh options. I like to pecan-crusted grouper. You won't be disappointed.

Fisherman’s Cove in Inverness.

When we are looking for that once a year special occasion, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more, fine dining experience we head towards Orlando. It's a little over an hour drive and there are some excellent restaurants and here are two of our favorites -

Eddie V's in Orlando - Dinner menu - https://www.eddiev.com/menu/dinner/prime-seafood

deep blu Seafood Grille and Sushi - (This place is a bit farther - near Disney) - Dinner menu - Seafood Orlando | Our Menus | Deep Blu Seafood Grille

Stay away from O’Shucks. Worst ever.

geobar 06-28-2022 06:14 AM

If perhaps you desire a 2 to 3-pound Lobster ask the restaurant a week before if they will accommodate your needs.

When looking for great seafood at a reasonable price, close to home, we go there. Bear in mind it is a local’s bar, so if you wish to blend in wear jeans & leave the sparkle tops at home. LOL. Arriving in your pickup truck & talking about fishing while dining is a bonus. All good. The real central Florida.

Captain D's is a great place for an anniversary with friends. Call for banquet room for reservations.

If you want to go to a nice seafood restaurant that has Florida fish, grouper, mahi mahi, and red snapper on the menu get ready to travel. Bonefish does have mahi mahi and occasionally grouper which are both grilled to perfection. If you're looking for cod, haddock, tilapia, or butterfish and like your fish fried you'll have a lot of choices.

I have a cast iron gut. Hardly any meal can get me sick. The Lighthouse knocked me out for close to two full days. The last time for us. I usually give a place several tries to kill me. You know maybe they were just having a bad day and all that B.S.

Go to the Bonefish. It will make you look like a hero.

I suggest Harry's in Ocala. Great food. Never had a bad meal there.
