9 year old driving a golf cart
From an unnamed news source. A grandmother allowed her 9 year old granddaughter to drive the golf cart with grandmother in the cart. An accident happened with the 9 year old driving. The cart rolled over and grandmother injured and rushed to the hospital.
Please everyone, don't let children drive golf carts! |

Incident did not qualify for a Darwin Award thankfully. Anyhow, I think 14 is too young for drive a golf cart especially around here with street driving requured. 16 sounds better.

That child could have hit and injured or killed a pedestrian or bicyclist. When grandma recovers she should extremely thankful that no one except herself was hurt. She could very well have lost everything she owns or ever will own in a lawsuit. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
As far as the "Darwin Award" being rehashed to death, if people would stop competing for it, it wouldn't be used over and over again. |

How does a 9 yr old reach the gas and brake peddles ?
|
I've seen children younger than that sitting on Grandpa's lap driving down the MMP's. We also have seen dogs on drivers laps with their paws on the wheel on our daily walks from Amelia to LSL every morning. I guess it is possible the dogs might be of legal driving age (in dog years of course).

Doesn't exactly match the "ticketed under 14" but the ticket, with conviction, might be considered the moving traffic conviction that makes them ineligible for a license until they are 18. |

The statement, as I'm interpreting it, means that when the 9-year-old turns 16, she can get a learner's permit. And as long as she doesn't get any moving traffic convictions within the next twelve months, she can get her drivers license. |

Just had a six passenger cart full of young kids fly by me through a stop sign. I doubt the driver was older than 12.
Looked like the parents them to McDonald's at Magnolia Plaza for dinner... |

Move to a assisted living where many don’t visit, but would be less than here. Buy a island in say the Bahamas and live a very secluded life. Or and this might be the best, if you want to stay in the area. Coleman probably has the least amount of child visits, so commit a crime, enter Coleman, and all your dreams of no children could come true. Roommate subject to crime:icon_twisted::1rotfl: |
I see young kids driving all the time, it's fun until this happens..... grandparents, these are not toys.

Ages and other events. I feel so sorry for you if you have no children on your life! |
A lot of the grandparents should not be driving either.
|
Bad judgment on grandmas part. Nevertheless I hope she will be fine.
|
Surprised no one had mentioned what this must have been like for the young girl. Guilt that may last a lifetime for hurting her grandmother. Adults must choose wisely in protecting children because children are not yet capable of doing so.
|
"Stupid is, as stupid does". Granny got her just reward. No sympathy (except for the grandchild).

yesterday two 9-10 year old boys had a golf cart at the family pool where the Rio Grand postal station is also located. They were driving it away from the pool with no adult present. If I see this again, I will take a picture and report it. And, parents or grandparents, be aware that you will be reported. This is dangerous and if another cart driver/ cart gets damaged or hurt, you will be held financially responsible. What are you thinking!!!!

So Blame the accident on the Adult in the cart, or the Adult that lets them take the Golf cart on their Own. So maybe instead of no children don’t allow irresponsible ADULTs in TV. That will curb the population in TV:evil6: |
Brilliant grandma.

Agree.

Cool, just like they said... this place really is like Disneyland. I'm gonna let my 7-yr old nephew drive one, with me in it of course. He plays car video games I'm sure he could handle it. What could go wrong? :loco:
