I had someone on Nextdoor give me a small travel crate but still looking for one in the home... also considering some sort of a playpen arrangement.... Any suggestions?

I’ve just read that instead of a 7 pound Pomeranian, at one year you will have a 20-30 pound dog about 14-16 inches high, half the size of a husky. I’m sure you already know that, but some interested people might not. About the size of a smaller Shelty.

I recently interacted with a Pomsky at a very swanky Miami hotel pool lounge-I was there for lunch and felt out of place as most patrons seemed to be supermodels lounging around on large couches being waited on by tuxedo'd attendants bringing towels and bottles of Fiji water. One such woman had this adorable all white dog that was very quiet yet friendly and seemed to dote on the woman even though she ignored the poor pup entirely. Looked like an arctic fox. Very well behaved (the dog, not necessarily the supermodel). I asked what breed the dog was and when she said 'a pomsky' I just pretended to know what the heck that meant.

Pomsky

Pomsky a Greek word for mutt

Holpat39 07-20-2022 07:53 AM

I'm not a fan of mixing breeds of such difference in size. What's the consequences, if any of this mixed breed in the long term. I have a Dachshund/Beagle mix but both are similar in size.

Very cute…I hope the Husky was the mom!

A lot of these new "designer" breeds are by artificial insemination. Illegal for horse races, not for dogs. Most of the time the breeder only has the female on premises, the male is available only by picture.

A Mixed Breed by Any Other Name . . .

The people who have these dogs are NOT breeders. The people who have these dogs are simply having a litter to make money. The dogs are mixed breed, mutts, Heinz 57, or whatever you want to call them. The dogs are not AKC registered and cannot be registered as such and cannot be shown in dog shows.

It's really quite sad that they are bringing more puppies in to this world when there are so many mutts available to be fostered and/or adopted. And those who buy them are just as guilty as those who have the litter by feeding into the problem.

It's sad that people have to have a certain type or breed of dog as a status symbol when there are so many wonderful pets waiting to be adopted at shelters.
