False Advertising
I always thought the My Pillow guy got a bad deal when he was sued for false advertising for his "buy one get one" claims, the BBB gave him an "F" rating, and Bed, Bath and Beyond removed his products from their stores. But, now he is selling slippers for $50 that he claims are regularly priced at $140. I wonder if he ever sold a pair of his slippers for $140. I doubt it.
I wish the FTC would crack down on false advertising like they are paid to do. To me, the worst ads are for food supplements that only use testimonials to sell their product. No research. Also, the ones that claim that something is "free" when you actually need to pay a shipping fee and sign up with a credit card for regular additional purchases. Free should mean free. |
Now he's selling My Coffee, we all know who will buy it.
|
Or the fast food commercials that NEVER look like the advertisements...

How about lower gas prices advertised on outdoor signs only to find out it's its "cash prices only".
|
Or when they claim the prices for t times remain unchanged, but the price no longer includes taxes.
|
No, no, no. It’s referred to as “alternative facts “ now.
|
How about the ad that their product helps your memory. One guy says that people say he has a memory like an elephant.
I don't remember the product! |

Not false advertising but over advertising.
Some of the extensive ads in The Villages Sun are irritating. Especially the multi/full page ads for hearing aids. These ads must be very expensive, as are the cost of their products. Speaking of that, seems that the Sun had more ad pages than ever. |
Boy, I agree 100 %
|
Do some research on Elephants … they do have amazing memories!

The "My Pillow" guy, Mike Lindell, is facing many lawsuits because of his claims about the 2020 election being rigged, stolen, etc. It is no surprise that he is running bargain basement sales at deep discounts, he needs the money. I can't believe that he is getting rid of inventory at a loss, so he must have sold his products at a very high markup and profit. $150 for a pair of slippers??? I think the satisfied customers in the commercial are actors and not actual users. False advertising!

I never saw a commercial that the slippers were $150. I wouldn't even by the slippers at $40 because I would buy nothing from that person.
|
Slippers and all his products are worth the money compared to that made in China crap.
|
Buyer beware…..if you miss the pay shipping, on all items or just second item, then You fall into their focus group. What product in your lifetime from a business, have you ever gotten entirely for free, even BOGO you are giving that business money.
Gas stations used to be cash only, until credit cards became a norm. Even before digital signs gas stations always had 2 prices. Guess my eyesight is pretty good without glasses to figure out which price is cash :clap2: Most seniors today don’t fall into the “I didn’t read the advertisement. My parents in their mid eighties doesn’t fall into this group. For vitamins, your PC should have explained, you are paying for expensive urine output a long time ago. |
can't stand that guy. He needs a reality check for sure

I checked into the slippers when I first saw the commercial fir them but they were 149.00 dollars so I did not get them
When I saw the sale I ordered a pair and they are very comfortable So I ordered 2 more pairs I bought the pillows years ago at bed bath and beyond and still happy with them but no longer shop at that store. I would also like to add that the customer service for my pillows is outstanding. |
I've become very adept at hitting the mute button when Mike comes on. Now it will be My Coffee, lordy help us........
|
I don't know if his pillows or slippers or whatever he is selling is worth the price.
I don't know if he needs the money or what this man is worth. What I do know is this guy is not wrapped too tight. |
my pillow sales are over $250 million a year from his crappy ads
|
first the my pillow guy is an idiot
anyone who thinks you can buy slippers for $140 is an idiot as well. if it is too good to be true it probably is a lie. Quote:

Love my pillow and so do all the people who I bought them for as Christmas gifts.
You all did ..let’s be real. His advertising is genius and it made him rich. People just hate because he became a huge success. But if you hate commercials turn the TV off and go enjoy everything THe villages has to offer, way better then boob tube. |
The tactic that bothers me the most is when all kinds of discounts are available but only if you download and use their app.

My parents got a pair of mypillows when they first came out, but hated them. I took my mom's, she only used it one night. It's okay but not nearly as good as my SleepNumber pillow I was given in exchange for a review on the bed I bought from them. I wouldn't ever buy a mypillow, but I'm tempted to pick up a GoodPillow this year. You can get 2 for $119, and they're supposedly much better than the mypillows. They're also less expensive than the SleepNumber pillows.

Half hour of news weather and sports and 15 minutes of commercials. Oh and about Sun Times and their ads, those ads are the backbone of their financial support. No ads, no paper.:read: |

Re ads support the paper, duh. My point was the very expensive full page, sometimes 4 full pages like hearing aids, with so much text…. |

Although the commercials can be annoying. The mattress topper they sell is by far the absolute best. We tried a few others first....
