Sounds like gun shots
 

Does anyone know what either gunshots or some other noise are? I live near 44 by Brownwood and it sounds like it's coming from the east. I heard it at 8:45 pm. It sounds like people are shooting - but it's dark.
Any clue?

I hear gun shots at times here in Lynnhaven and expect they are from a farm nearby. Usually when coyotes are out and about.

We live in Osceola Hills and very often we hear shooting across the canal to the east of us, which is near the Pennbrooke area. We have heard there is a shooting range over there.

I believe farmers can protect their livestock if not shooting over public roads of any kind and staying on their private property.

I am using coyotes but other critters would be a threat.

Lots of feral hogs in the area, causing a lot of damage on farmland.
Maybe a hog shoot.

You can hear automatic weapons fire coming from the Coleman prison firing range.

In Osceola Hills, we often hear gunfire in the evening but today we have been hearing it in the morning. Some of it sounds like automatic weapons.

The hood is dangerous after dark

From mid August through January in Florida there are several windows of open hunting season for various types of waterfowl and migratory birds. Our Villages home is fairly close to the edge of the bubble and during those times we often hear what appears to be shotgun fire, typically either early or late in the day. Hopefully no birdshot will pop the bubble!

I may have heard the same during my morning walk near Lake Deaton. Some enthusiastic shooting but not automatic fire.

I live in Osceola too.

The guy to the east has a range on the property. He is a retired gun dealer. He does shoot automatic rifles...usually in the morning or evening.

People living to the east of me called the police and requested that they get back to them

The deputy did. He has his own range, with a berm, deputy said its safe and he can shoot on his own property

Actually, we can shoot here in the villages...youd have to be nuts to do it

It's a great hobby for the inmates to burn off a bit of steam and resentment that can build up inside the prison walls.

yes its from the prison , but not the range....

It's coming from the last home on Sumpter County Line Rd (Lake/Sumpter county line). They have a private firing range there, word has it that the property owners are the motorcycle club called the Kingsman. Happens quite frequently and yes, you will hear automatic weapons at times in the past. This is just east of Lake Deaton Plaza off RT44.

Just another “benefit” of south of 44. Turnpike noise , prison loud speaker announcements, gravel pit blasting ,and gunfire. gotta love it.

Guns all around me, whether legal or not, does not make me feel safe.

There is a private gun club Behind the Dollar General right before Pennbrooke Fairways. Don't be alarmed it's been there for many years and it is perfectly legal

Actually, the gunfire is north of 44.

If you want to hear gunfire south of 44, you can go to Edna's and hear the people in Adamsville firing guns.

These outdoor ranges were here long before TV.......perhaps moving to a big city will make you feel much more safe.:wave:

Wish TV had a free outdoor range. Just sayin'.

Target practice and getting ready for hunting season by “really good people”. The Villages built around their homes. Don’t worry about a thing….. it’s not like Chicago , New York, or large northern cities. Completely 100% acceptable and different. No one will get injured and the shooting noise has been here long before we arrived.
