That's great. Does it go all the way to Lake Sumter Landing?

A 3/4 mile long trail is not nearly long enough to reach LSL. There is a map at the included link that shows where the trail goes.

Path to narrow

The path is so narrow that it will not be of much use in terms of enjoyment.

hrenner 08-08-2022 08:08 AM

Agree

So narrow that two people cannot pass without one skewing their shoulders sideways. Unbelievably poor planning for the cost. :(

Sidewalk superintendents.

The trail is supposed to be six feet wide. How wide does a walking trail need to be?

Chi-Town 08-08-2022 09:39 AM

Some beautiful scenery to enjoy. A nice addition to pedestrian offerings along with the walking trail at the First Responders Recreation Center.

Wonder what the width actually is. From a distance seems narrower than that.

walking trail

Does anyone have anything nice to say? If you don't like it, use the recreation trails... The Villages maintains beautiful common areas... be happy with what is available!::024:

You need prolonged exposure for either covid or monkeypox (not just passing my someone OUTSIDE). For monkeypox you need actual physical contact. But, you know that...

islandtimeCB 08-08-2022 12:32 PM

I think it's great! You won't have to worry about being run over by a golf cart. It sounds like there will be some shade so that is another bonus. The Villages just keeps getting better IMO :BigApplause:

It’s so nice to have a path , where , bikes , golf carts won’t be allowed.

We were very excited to learn about the path being built, then we heard dogs wouldn’t be allowed to walk the path with their owners and all the wind went out of our sail. What the hell good is a walking path that doesn’t allow dogs?

You can put the dog in a buggy. Nobody will notice.

It will be just fine for me… and for others without dogs… and for those who left their dogs at home

Where did you hear no dogs?
Why would this pathway be an exception, when all others allow dogs?

Don’t think this is an exception. Not sure dogs are allowed on any of the nature trails. Why would they be allowed on this one?

Stu from NYC 08-08-2022 04:49 PM

First time you find out that a dog did his business on a path and his owner did not clean it up not likely to be in favor of allowing them on these hiking trails

You are correct, not allowed on nature trails. So, if this is a nature trail………...
It’s called a pathway and a trail .

Very Narrow Path..people are going to look at weeds and tall grass..where's the Lake? not much to see unless they cut down some of the bushes for the Birders. Wish 'path' was wider.

It was discussed as a nature trail at the PWAC meeting where it was approved. the birders seem very excited by it and dogs don't mix well with bird watching. I don't recall if it has been called that in any of the articles or flyers that have gone around.

Wonder when the first complaint about two people walking towards me on the path, would not move into file, forcing me to step of the trail will be posted?

Will be the same people that park in front of the grocery stores. The entitled ones.
