Service for 2002 Corvette

I had posted a year ago on this topic and got some great feedback. I ended up taking my Vette to Accutech which was highly recommended. Yesterday I was driving and heard what could only be described as something loose on the undercarriage. It's hard to describe, just a very weird noise. I have no idea what it could be and now that Accutech is no longer in business, I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on a good mechanic for a 2002 Corvette.

Thanks for your help. I did a search on Auto Repair but didn't really come up with much.

Reach out to ones of the Corvette clubs here for recommendations.

A friend takes his to Sumter tire. He grills a mechanic before letting them touch his car

The Chevy dealer on 44 in Wildwood is a big time Corvette dealer from all era's they should be able to take care of you there.

I had a car where the heatshield around the catalytic came loose. Turns out a stainless steel hose clamp was a very easy "fix", and yes it was a very weird sound as it changed with vehicle speed, Also to answer your question Wildwood tire has been great, been using them for 8 or 9 years.

Actually this Chevy dealer has let a limit on the age of Chevy's they will work on.

I've never seen this before.............but they have refused to work on classics.

I had a Honda Goldwing and heard some wrenches will not work on anything
older then 10 years old.

I question this and the main reason was a lot of old vintage rides have nuts and bolts seize over time, and those irreplaceable parts are almost impossible to find.

I'm always amazed at all the vintage car owners that keep their collectables running with very few older mechanics around that know how to tune the older engines.

Another endorsement for Burnyzz here.

We use Hutson Automotive in Fruitland Park 352-728-1454. I know they work on Vetts.

We own classic cars that my husband (or friends) always did work on. We are now in our 80s and husband is ill, friends are dead or infirm. Our Porsches are 1965 vintage and up and there are few mechanics left. We keep them up north - where we live in the Summer - because Porsche Club members are our best source to find quality mechanics. Find a Corvette Club!

I agree, we had an '86 vette and when a called over to Nahas service they could not even answer some basic questions and were definitely not interested in servicing the vehicle. i was eventually able to find the answer and make the fix myself.

I had the same response for a problem with my 2003 vette. I wanted them to turn off a function in the car's computer that won't cause any safety or drivability problems. The service writer went in the shop to speak to a mechanic who told him he had never done that before. I came back the next day with a printout showing step by step instructions and pictures on how to do it with the Tech 2 scanner. A 5th grader could do it. not difficult at all.
Service writer said they would get back to me, that was over two weeks ago. and still no contact from him. I probably should have printed the pictures in color instead of black and white.

I took a chance and bought a Chinese clone of the GM Tech 2 scanner on line and did the job myself in less than 15 minutes which included hooking it up and disconnecting it.

I had planned on using the dealer to perform services on my vette but wrote them off my list. If their mechanic isn't smart enough to follow simple instructions I don't want them near my car.
