There's a battle going on in our house

Things are very tense here and I felt the only fair compromise would be to go to you 15,000+ members to try and stop the battle and win the war.:boxing2: The problem we are dealing with is the over or under. I swear that the toilet paper roll should have the paper coming from over the top and DW emphatically states that it should be from underneath. Please dear members would you let my wife know that once again she is wrong and end this once and for all.:ohdear:
I'm not smart enough to know how to set this up as a poll but if someone else would like to set it up it could possibly help thousands of us that have sat back in silence and changed the roll.
Thanks for taking on this crappy challenge.:clap2:

ducati1974 11-11-2010 03:59 PM

Why don't you put his & her toilet paper holders right next to each other, one over, one under!

graciegirl 11-11-2010 04:03 PM

Then of course there is the issue of the lid UP or DOWN.

In the A.M. it had BETTER be UP.

elevatorman 11-11-2010 04:09 PM

It does not matter. What does matter is this Motto.
HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE!:clap2::clap2:

2BNTV 11-11-2010 04:23 PM

Over or under. Sounds like a gambling issue. :D

I'm gambling either way is okay.

In GG's case of course that means, The Morse Informant.

Over is correct and it is in the deed restriction information - right after the section on whether to swipe your gate pass from left to right, right to left, top to bottom, or bottom to top. I would tell you which is correct but I think someone tore that page out and used it for toilet tissue.

Tweety Bird 11-11-2010 08:29 PM

If I change the TP, it goes OVER. Easier to see...pretty simple, and makes sense.

K9-Lovers 11-11-2010 08:54 PM

Skip2MySue,

First of all, your forum name implies that you "skip to your sue" indicating that you should follow her lead.

Second of all, there are two very important words that every man should know when he gets married: "I DO" :0000000000luvmyhors

Lastly, there are two important words to remember after becoming a husband: "YES DEAR".

Can you tell this post was written by MRS. K9? :girlneener:

justanormalgirl 11-11-2010 09:08 PM

Years ago I cleaned hotels and we were trained to hang the TP so that the loose edge comes over the top and then you fold the edge so it comes to a point in the middle. So, that must be the correct way to hang TP or there would be no need to fold to a point, it wouldn't stay put the other way, right?? :)

Pturner 11-11-2010 09:17 PM

Skip, Skip, Skip,
Is this really worth getting into a, um... "****ing contest" over. Tell her she's right and buy her a box of chocolates. :0000000000luvmyhors

Then by all means FIX the toilet paper so it goes over the top!

Hmmm Maybe my honey was right 40 years ago. Anyway, I would rather switch than fight. That time anyway. He won and I lost. Maybe when I married "Mr. Right" he really was Mr. "Always Right" like he thinks. :a20:

barb1191 11-11-2010 09:46 PM

Soooooooooooooo funny.....in the Birthday forum !!!!!

Over in hub's bathroom and....

Under in my bathroom.

How's that for a compromise?

I truly don't care how it's applied as long as the roll is replaced immediately after it's all run out!!!!

Pturner 11-11-2010 10:07 PM

It must have been moved to the birthday forum as a joke.

... Am I the only one who doesn't get the joke? :o Would someone please 'splain it to me? Gently.

The answer is simple for us "operation" guys. When you are seated on your throne, if the toilet paper holder is below the level of the top of your thigh, the paper should come from the top so you dont have to reach way down to get it. If the toilet paper holder is above the level of your thigh, the paper should come from the bottom.

graciegirl 11-12-2010 10:12 AM

I just wanna tell ya....that I love this forum and almost everyone who posts here. You are way more interesting than the younger twerps I hang out with up north.

Not a one of them would have taken the time to figure this issue out!!!:a20:

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much time on your hands:icon_wink:Next we will be discussing our favorite brand of toilet tissue, or better yet, the "bidet":icon_wink:

A little over the top !!

Com'on Kids

It all depends who changes the roll , if men do it , it comes over the top and if ladies do it , it comes from the bottom .
Nobody knows why , they just do.!!!!
I was told this years ago in college , (It may have been in an Art Appreciation class), and it reverts back to the old OUTHOUSES, men tear the front pages out of the Sears catalog and ladies tear out the back.....This was the proper protocol , however we didn't abide by this as we had a Monkey Wards catalog..

gone with the wind fumar (bad joke) .....:BigApplause:

Russ_Boston 11-12-2010 03:12 PM

Easier to tear with one hand when over the top. But if it comes to a choice of under or none I'll take under:)

You know that that's the ONLY way. How else is my cabin steward to do his/her job?

I once discovered my tp here at home pointed; the cleaning crew had just left! I haven't seen that again!

I've found that when one reaches a certain age, one has more time to ponder these mysteries of life.

2newyorkers 11-12-2010 04:19 PM

This was an ongoing dilemna for Ann Landers for years. I do not think it was ever resolved. My opinion.. as long as it is there I do not care!
