GENE SIMMONS: 'There's Nothing That Compares To Being In KISS' - BLABBERMOUTH.NET

Looks like we have some of the same players as we have had over the years.

Gene Simmons sure is one cool guy.

Good luck this year.

It is ready for this week's picks.

I'm familiar with this format however are we picking teams and using the point spread? Or picking teams to win straight up? Lastly, can I join?? thanks

Picking teams to win and adding confidence points 1-16 on who do you think will win that week.

It should be easy to join if you have Yahoo.

Give the teams you expect to win the higher numbers. Those you think will lose the lower. If you chose the BUCS to win and put a 16 there that is the team you pick to win the greatest confidence.

Spread yes? Still unclear. Are we picking winners with or without spread?

The spread is information provided by the site. Probably gambler odds. Bills by 6.5 over LA, etc.

So...we can ignore the spreads? We only care about who wins the game(regardless of spread) and our rankings?

Bill, Maybe you received clarification in a pm from the commissioner. Are the picks straight up or with pointspread? I would join too if I knew the rules? Thank you

Dont know why it has not been clearly answered.

Well that turned out to be wrong! It was not picking winners, but instead it was entirely about beating the point spread. In addition, the initial post did not say confidence points were required and the basis of the scoring system, so two long time villagers did not rank confidence and despite some good picks have zero points.

O and I forgot to ask, what is the prize? I think the good folks in the lead might be good friends of mine.

Taltarzac725 09-11-2022 04:34 PM

It looks like old gang is back on here with NFL Yahoo pick-em names like 224, Beau, Little Rodney, Gene and Michelle.

For any of those who do not know why they are using these. My then Earl Wooster HS School English teacher's daughter, Michelle Mitchell, was murdered on my birthday of 2-24 near the University of Nevada, Reno campus in 1976. I was 17. They got the wrong person for about 35 years and got the right one in 2014 with Rodney Halbower.

This is low for even the Yahoo posters from back then.

This is deliberate attempts to trigger some traumatic experiences I went through. Really nasty behavior. I expected better.

This person is on my Ignore list but I do have a duty as the person that set this FUN Yahoo 2022 NFL Pick-Em game up. So, I do have an obligation to, at least, acknowledge this post and copy it.

What duty and for what purpose? These posts are getting as confusing as the original rules.

Duty bound copy, before yet another edit is made. The unedited version was a personal attack.

Perhaps the Duplicitous nature of the rules and especially the incorrect answers to simple questions were intentional in order to give those in the know a big jump start in points, which is what happened. In either event an apology or explanation is in order.

Exciting and close game last night between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.

KC won 27-24 over LA! Hope they correct this soon. It shows LA winning 27-24.

They still have not corrected this but all the other scores are correct.

If anyone knows whom to contact to get this fixed please give it a try. I have not seen anyway to contact the game keepers but am not very familiar with Yahoo.

Can you explain what you are talking about? KC did not cover the spread. POINTS IN TOTV22 were properly distributed.

Cleveland wins and our game set counted it correctly.

Congratulations to the Browns.

Looks like the spread does influence the standings. I am quite new to watching NFL games. Usually only watch the endings and only if it is close.

ZCaveman used to do these pools and knew a lot more about football than I did.

ZCaveman also did well on FunTrivia. I do well too unless the questions are about cricket, soccer, football, hockey, etc.

And I have never done any sports betting.

Good luck with your future picks. Understand point spreads in Pick'em games |

ZCaveman passed in mid-April of 2016. https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...aveman-190262/

He is still one of my favorite people on Talk of the Villages. Many the people I have interacted with over the years since I joined TOTV in July of 2007 have passed or moved onto some other way of communicating online.

The specific question was asked at least three times before the season started. Above is one of those requests. The current commissioner participated in these point spread pools for years. To claim ignorance now in the third week of the season, without even an apology, is inexplicable. Just a tiny amount of due diligence by the commissioner was certainly expected.

All the information is available on the Yahoo site. And it is very easy to find. My role was basically just to start the thread and make my picks. As commissioner I only am going to try to keep things friendly between players. It has been incredibly nasty in other years.

The Commissioner sets up the game. That and keeping the Yahoo NFL Pick 'Em board friendly is really the only role I have. People should be able to Google Yahoo NFL Pick 'Em on their own. It did indicate I put "Yes" to Spread and Confidence Points. I did not understand what "Spread" meant in some cases as I am not a big football fan nor do I gamble.

Taltarzac725 09-24-2022 09:29 AM

Picks in early in case storm cuts power.

You might want to get your picks in for next week early in case we lose power here in the Villages.

We have never lost power for more than 12 hours or so during the 17 years we have lived here.

I do know people right outside the Villages, however, who lost power for a week or more.

And still no apology? At this point you are able to turn over your commissioner's role to a more knowledgeable person. I can ask Gene (Pepe) Coppola if he wants the the job. He has won several cavemen pools over the years and is capable of actually answering questions. Let me know buddy.

So now we know the obligations of commissioner? To needlessly repost things to which you wrongly answered?
