Availability of Golf Cars

Anyone looking for a new golf car lately?
Is the waiting list getting shorter on availability?
How about prices?
Would this be a bad time to buying now that the snowbirds are arriving?

I’m guessing that walking into a golf cart store and talking to a salesperson is just too much effort? After all where will you get more accurate information than here on TOTV.

If it is too much effort.....................the OP could call.

We ordered in June, told December.

This is a forum intended to bring friendly people together for discussions. With this in mind what possible reason would you have for thinking you fit into this format?

People asking questions here often have the benefit of getting helpful, additional information over and above the answer to their question, as friendly people relate experiences they've had and knowledge they've learned.

Mean people who jump at the chance to make people feel bad, using sarcasm to answer well meaning forum users are like school yard bullies who never outgrew their need to dominate people they sense are weaker.

MrFlorida 09-18-2022 09:37 AM

My friend just got his new cart, only took 6 months....

bsloan1960,

Thank You, well said.

Unfortunate this site allows this every day.
Best to read what's posted only and don't add anything.

Point taken. But other than his first question no one can accurately answer his questions but the dealer.

I’m helpful when someone asks a real question. Some people start threads for the sake of starting threads. I’m suspicious that a couple of these posters are shills for TOTV to start innocuous threads to get clicks.

That being said, I try to do better going forward.

mbene 09-18-2022 12:22 PM

One thing I have noticed is that golf carts for sale listed on TOTV have been staying for sale longer. A couple months ago it seemed like if they lasted a day or two that was a long time.

It really all depends what you want, and what your budget is.

I wonder if The Villages Golf Cars has discovered that selling refurbs is more profitable right now. I know when I went looking at Village Discount Carts their refurbs were only slightly cheaper buying a new Yamaha at The Villages Golf Cars.

Sorry, my impression is that Kenswing IS trying to be helpful, not sarcastic. I think you really called this one wrong. While we at this forum have various experiences, and I ask for info regularly, the guys in the golfcart store got the precise and correct options and prices.

It's not just carts that are scarce. They've had my 2021 Quiet Tech Yamaha in for warranty repairs for nearly three weeks now. It has a clutch problem, and the parts are back ordered. No idea how long I have to wait, but the good thing about The Villages Golf Cars is that they have provided a loaner for as long as it takes.

Their also like car salesmen, their all crooks and out to drain your wallet.

What a better way to find out about golf cars is to ask the people that own and have
already bought one here on totv.

Oldragbagger 09-19-2022 09:51 AM

We just arrived here in March. We went to lots of dealerships from here to Ocala that either had near empty lots, or said everything they had was already pre-sold. We didn’t ask what the wait time was because we wanted a cart right away. The one place we found that had quite a few carts on the lot that were ready for delivery was Villages Discount Golf Car at 16330 S, US-441, Summerfield, FL 34491. They deal in Yamaha gas carts and Evolution electric carts. We chose the Evolution and are quite pleased with it even though we often see negative comments about them on this site. We purchased it on Wednesday and they delivered it on Friday. Service has been good as well. They will pick the cart up, repair, and bring it back if you have a problem. You might want to give them a call at 352-633-8480 to see if their stock is still good.

golfing eagles 09-19-2022 10:08 AM

My brother in law ordered a 2022 Yamaha Quietech in May and got it delivered today. The cart itself was ready and in the showroom a month ago---the additional wait was for the fabric to make the curtains. Cost about 17-18K with the comfy seats.

I just bought a golf cart from Sumter last year. Checked prices everywhere including for options etc. Even in other states. The Villages Golf Carts are more expensive because of convenience but… when I had a problem Dec 26, the day after Christmas, they made sure I was ok that very day. I like their service. Not the cheapest true, but to call them crooks? I never felt misled or deceived.

Are you actually in the market for a new golf cart?

I have had great service from The Villages Golf Carts also. For me it’s Magnolia Plaza. I’ve always been able to get my cart in for service within a day or two. As of the last time I was there they were only servicing carts purchased from them. So if you bought elsewhere you either had to have a mobile mechanic come out or the dealer you bought from. Getting a loaner cart at no charge is just icing on the cake.

Inspector Mark 09-19-2022 08:25 PM

Here in Michigan we have a summer place in Sandy Pines Wilderness Trails. (https://sandypines.com) It's a golf cart community. We have two pretty nice electric golf carts but when we move to the Villages in three years we will need a gas cart.

My point is, I think we can get a top of the line gas golf cart here in Michigan for 12,000 to 14,000 tomorrow and bring it to the villages with us. If you still spend the summer somewhere beside the Villages, consider buying a cart there instead of paying top dollar in a closed market..

I didn't use them, because I shopped price. I never felt they were crooked. I don't feel it's anyone's duty to try to be the cheapest. As long as they aren't trying to slip something in while you aren't looking, and as long as they deliver what they say they will deliver, at the agreed upon price, I see no reason to label them "crooks".
Everyone is entitled to shop around and buy elsewhere if they wish.

I'm just saying watch your transaction carefully.
I see to many retail salespeople that can try anything to make a couple extra fast bucks.

We must have gotten a good one. No complaints, no ups, no extras we didn't want. Just wish we didn't have to wait 6 months, although we have a loaner. We are in our 4th month.

something specific to The Villages Golf Cars, or are you just speaking generally?

We went to Villages Golf Cars in June asking for what they had for used stock and all they wanted to talk about was selling us a refurb. It felt like they were trying to sell us a 5 year old cart with a few extras added on for nearly the price of a new cart.

I purchased a new cart from the Magnolia Plaza store. The price seemed reasonable when compared to others in the area. The absolute deciding factor is the service which has been outstanding with a loaner when requested.

You accused someone of being a crook. Then you said you said something else.
Why did you accuse them of being a crook?
Did you have some first hand experience with them that justifies calling someone a crook?

I agree...... Can we say "Back-pedaling" boys and girls?

Visit the LSL cart store, while gassing up is a no go(for me)... Salesman, woman closely follows you around breathing down you're neck...Saying, just seeing what is new, I have a cart, not in the market, does not work...Cuts your visit short, walk out in relief..

You will see negative posts about most anythng. NOTHING IS PERFECT. Buying stuff from say Amazon. I look at the negatives first. Some are valid many you notice the buyer has no idea what they are talking about.
I got caught with something a friend told me never do. When you say ??????? recomended you they have no reason to give you the best price.
Personal experience. A friend?, different person, recommended a roofer-many years ago. The quote was HIGH, but, my friend? said he was the best. The job was TERRIBLE. After the job is done, they send you a letter. If, you refer them they will pay you $500

Just purchased my brand new 2022 Yamaha Gas Cart from Bargain Carts in Haines City and trailered it home the same day, good price and good inventory. $10.300 Cash out the door with four year Yamaha Warranty.
