Favorite Bruce Springsteen song?

Bruce Springsteen

Recall seeing a movie he made presenting his music that way instead of touring. This was at the Rialto but only remember a few people there when I saw it.

Can stand him or his music? It's just noise!

Taltarzac725 09-23-2022 07:16 PM

There was a British movie about a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen. Kind of funny. Most of the other people in the movie did not understand the character's love of Springsteen's music.

Pink Cadillac & Cadillac Ranch. :pepper2:

Never heard of him. Who is he? A former Beetle, Rolling Stone or Jefferson Airplane?

I recall seeing this movie at the Old Mill Playhouse.

He has probably worked with all three or, at least, with members of their bands.

Jersey Girl.

It's a song about a cow I think.

PugMom 09-24-2022 08:19 AM

also like Because the Night, but prefer the patti smith version

collie1228 09-24-2022 08:22 AM

Never was a big fan. But I do like "Tunnel of Love".

PugMom 09-24-2022 08:48 AM

yeah, i'm not a fan either, but am very familiar with him. some of his songs are ok, but i think he's a better songwriter than singer/performer. the songs i listed i do like, but am not a REAL fan

Liked his music earlier, then he got political. When will they learn to do what they do best. Want to hear his music not his opinions.

Nucky 09-24-2022 10:24 AM

Yupper, he went political at a concert I was dragged to. Tried to just be cool and hang in there till the end. He wasn’t singing that night he was screeching!

A real disappointment all the way around. Just like a sports figure, entertain me cause I don’t care what you think about anything this clown should practice his singing.

I used to be a huge fan, collected all his music releases and attend a couple dozen concerts. Then he went political. I've since sold off all his CDs. Never again will I listen to one of his songs.

Met him while I was in college. He was a relatively new artist playing the college campus scene and a real jackass! Never liked his music or him.

Then why bother reading this thread, or for that matter, why bother with your comment...SMH
Some people just have to give their 2 cents

Nucky 09-25-2022 03:13 PM

Bruce should hold hands with Robert De Niro and jump off, Ah who cares! :1rotfl:

Really like Robert de Niro. Great actor.

I only bought a few of Bruce Springsteen's CDs or earlier 8-tracks over the past 50 years or so.

I was a BIG fan when he was just a bar band promoting his first album "Greetings From Asbury Park". I use to see his "E Street" band up close and personal play at the local bars in Boston around 1972 and 1973. But his fan base quickly grew and he started playing at much bigger venues and for me Bruce gradually faded away in the distance among the masses.

ThirdOfFive 12-02-2022 07:06 PM

1. Born in the USA.

2. I'm on fire.

3. Pink Cadillac.

Still NOTHING! NOTHING! NOTHING! He is a worm!

Blinded by the light was written by Springsteen, but the 1976 version by Manfred Mann’s Earth Band is by far the best version of the song. Never been a fan of the Boss, he is an egotistical legend in his own mind, and mixing politics with his performances is a huge turn off.

JMintzer 12-03-2022 08:12 AM

"Growin' Up"...

And to those who just seem unable to control themselves, do you really think your comments matter in this thread?

If you cannot separate a singer from their personal views, you must have a very limited list of "approved artists"...

Point blank-Racing in the Streets-Jungleland-Backstreets-All That Heaven Will Allow

….in no particular order.
(Sorry, it’s impossible for this lifelong fan to pick just one!!)

Babubhat 01-06-2023 07:14 PM

Nice guy. Hangs around Asbury Park and Point Pleasant

Battlebasset 01-07-2023 06:47 AM

"Thunder Road" is a personal fave.

But I really like the one he wrote where he apologizes for using tax loopholes on his "farm" in NJ to avoid paying huge property tax bills that he advocates for everyone else. I think it was a duet with Jon Bon Jovi.

Yeah, I've never heard it either.
