3pm at Crispers on 466 in the Southern Trace Shopping Plaza. Hope you can make it. Do we need to pick you up?

KathieI - We are not snowbirds, and we have been looking forward to when we can meet everyone at Crispers. If nothing comes up, we'll be there this month. This will be our first month in TV.

Remember that Crispers has a new menu. No more pulled pork sandwiches. :grumpy:

Ohhh Tal, I checked the menu, they still have my delicious turkey sandwich. Remember, I'm from CA the land of fruit and nuts, we don't eat pulled pork!!!

Hey, you coming to the lunch?? I expect to see you there. Maybe we could even get Fumar to attend.

Thanks for the offer to do a pick up. I'll be coming from tennis and finally can find my way over there by golf cart!

I think I met Fumar at one of these TOTV Crispers lunches. I may be there. Not sure yet.

Now, wouldn't it be SUPER SPECIAL if Tal and The Great Fumar both came! I missed October for very feeble reasons, but I've got reminders posted all over the house for this time.

Looks like I'll miss another meeting. One of these days I'll get to meet everyone.....although I did have the honor of meeting Redwitch last Sunday.

I cannot make it this time but hope to sometime, maybe early in 2011.

Just now, I was, for some reason, overcome with the need to know how long these lunches have been going on. I had guessed almost 3 years, but then I just had to start acting like some kind of librarian so I looked it up…...

Yes. I took on the TOTV search thingy which has to be the most capricious – actually moody – search thingy I have ever seen.

So anyway…… I typed in the words Crispers luncheon and left the little green dot in the one that says thread and it got a bunch of hits -- way too many.

And so……. I scrolled down and clicked on the last page and there it was -- the TOTV get-togethers, getting started at the end of 2007. There were lots of threads there in the lineup. A little history.

I bet some real and lasting friendships have come out of the TOTV lunches, where TOTVers are given the opportunity to meet in person.

I think it is wonderful that these happy happenings keep on happening -- almost 3 years of TOTVers being invited to meet other TOTVers at the Crispers monthly lunch.

Awww, Boomer, I'm so sad today. I thought just MAYBE you would join us. I promise, I promise, I promise, NOT TO TAKE YOUR PICTURE IF YOU DO COME!!!

I almost can give you the history of these lunches, it all started with a meet in person meeting under the clock at LSL in '07. The problem was that the web cam was so small we couldn't really see the faces of people and they were holding signs and we couldn't read them. I think there were about 10 or so people at that meeting.

The next meeting was around Oct. 07, I was in TV and a few others, so we met at Dunkin Donuts. There were about 8 of us, and the minute I walked into the restaurant, I walked over to Donna because who could miss that cute face and blonde ponytail... We had so much fun, that we decided to do it again soon.

The next one was held at Starbucks and it coincided with Redwitch's birthday, so I brought Killer Choc Cake from TooJays, and I put Red in the hospital with a gall bladder attack, LOL... not funny at the time. TH was there and took pictures of us. It was such a fun event that we decided to make it a monthly regular meeting. Lots of posts and suggestions developed with the consensus of the group coming up with Crispers on the 3rd Friday of the month. The major hostess of the early lunches were Villages 07 and Village Kid who greeted everyone and took the pictures.

Therein lies the history of the luncheon. At the inception, I and many others, were still wannabees so as we all arrived to look for houses, we were celebrating our eventual moves to TV and the start of many great friendships.... The greatest fun was every time a member was visiting was the excitement of meeting in person and introducing them to all the other folks. Such a great time was had by all.

So some day, you will grace us with your presence so we can all meet the great Boomer in person (and Mr. Boomer as well).... Hope to see you soon.

Sorry that I could not make it this month. Some stuff came up I had to deal with this afternoon. It also feels like I may be getting a cold and did not want to pass that on.

Tal, I was disappointed that you couldn't make it. I hope to meet you on our return from helping Santa.

It was another beautiful afternoon with a delightful bunch of people.

It was great to meet so many folks and I'm afraid there were so many we won't be able to remember half of them. Hopefully, we'll remember more and more of you as we reconnect each month. Already looking forward to next month, but I just realized that we won't be able to make it until January. We've got to go back to VA that weekend next month.

Thanks for the TOTV Luncheon history lesson! I never knew. I can't wait 'till I'm a frog and can attend the luncheons. I've only been in town for one. :sigh:

Update on TOTV lunch
 

We had a tremendous turnout yesterday. Lots of wonderful people, and a bunch of newbies... It was great fun. I took a lot of pictures and will post them when I get them sorted out. As usual, I'm exhausted after the lunch but that didn't stop me from going out dancing until the wee hours this morning...
