Divorce announced just now.

Tom Brady and Giselle are both getting divorce lawyers, just announced on FOX.

bagboy 10-04-2022 11:39 AM

Sad when that happens to any couple, especially when they have children

fdpaq0580 10-04-2022 11:51 AM

Totally expected.

Stu from NYC 10-04-2022 01:21 PM

Would have hoped that he will really retire after this year and they would reconcile but oh well.

alwann 10-04-2022 01:48 PM

Brady

I suspect there's more to the story than his un-retirement. The tabloids and entertainment news media are probably drooling over the chance to dig into who might be zooming who.

And this would be ANY of our business how exactly?????????? Life happens. Get over it. Even to football players

coralway 10-04-2022 02:37 PM

I really don't care, do you?

MrFlorida 10-04-2022 02:39 PM

Oh Well !

Why is this divorce more tragic than the thousands of others that were probably filed today?

PugMom 10-04-2022 03:22 PM

i'd think it would be of some importance for Brady fans, this could affect his game. too bad for the kids

manaboutown 10-04-2022 03:29 PM

Divorce is hard on children. Bet the press can't wait to feast on this like a pack of hungry wolves. The press will make it harder for the children.

Yes that is who I would really feel sorry for.

Not always. My hubby was the product of one of those "we stayed together for the benefit of the kids" homes and he said it would have been MUCH easier on everyone if they had split up earlier. Sometimes we visualize something as worse than the actual truth. (Responding ONLY to the divorce part, totally agree on the press issue)

I understand what you wrote. Bad marriages are hard on children, too.

Each situation is different. Sometimes it is better to remain together; sometimes it is better to divorce. The lesser of two evils so to speak.

That being the case I have never heard from a friend whose parents divorced when they were children that they were glad their parents divorced. On top of everything else it usually leads to financial hardship, parents fighting over custody and money, who gets the children for which holidays and/or vacation, children's performance at school dropping, children developing sometimes serious behavioral issues, one or both parents lying about the other parent and teaching their children to hate the other parent, moving and changing schools so children lose friends, custodial parents dating, eventually step parents, assimilating with the children of the step parent, and more, much more.

ThirdOfFive 10-04-2022 04:43 PM

I could not care less. Tom Brady is paid to play football. He is not, as far as I know, vying for father of the year.

If he was vying for father of the year, I might have an opinion on this topic.

But he isn't.

So I don't.

These last 2 games were dismal. Tom looks thin and dazed. There are other factors as well but I think this has affected his game. A friend thinks he will go out on injured reserved soon.

REALLY?? WHO CARES THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE VILLAGES!!!!

Nucky 10-05-2022 05:04 AM

Remember the last thread about this subject. I told you so. I really don’t give a hoot. The children will fare better than many do with a divorce. Still sad for the entire family.

Football was more important? She asked for help with the kids? Here’s the result of his decision.

Still no matter what it’s really no one’s business at all.

Frankb 10-05-2022 05:05 AM

And?

And this is somehow pertinent to life in The Villages?

Worldseries27 10-05-2022 05:35 AM

Much ado about nothing

100% agreed. No way they married without prenup agreements. So standard best interests of the children will prevail as it should. Imho they will reconcile.

Caymus 10-05-2022 05:51 AM

Doesn't Gisele have a higher net worth than Brady? She may be paying him.

that's good, not like she didn't warn him.... but she can do WAY better than him.

WingedFoot78 10-05-2022 06:06 AM

Brady should have retired after his last SB win. He looks pathetic on the sidelines. Is he trying to break George Blanda's record for longevity? I hope that he gets out, and stays out, before he gets hurt. He was magnificent!

I wish that I didn't have as medical problems as I have so that I could sit down and really feel sorry for them. I can't believe that anyone is surprised when someone in Hollywood or a sports figure gets divorced. Sometimes when I see wedding photos of famous people & my first reaction is wondering how long that union is going to survive, ha!ha!

It’s sad that he decided not to retire which started this entire thing. I am a big fan of Brady and have followed him since the beginning of his NFL career. Unfortunately, like most elite athletes who get addicted to the adrenaline rush he could not give it up. He had nothing left to prove and it will be years before anyone will beat his record of Super Bowl wins if ever. I hope when this is over he will look and feel this was worth playing one more meaningless season but somehow I doubt it.

It wasn't Brady's performance the caused the Bucs to lose to Kansas City on Sunday night. He threw for over 370 yards and 3 touchdowns. No...it was the fact their offense was one-dimensional with an embarrassing 3 yards rushing for the game. That, and the fact their defense was atrocious. They had no answers for the KC offense, who scored at will. Tom may not be yesteryear's Tom, but this one ain't on him.

MartinSE 10-05-2022 07:45 AM

I don't understand why this is any of our business or why I would care? I guess it was/is a slow news day on Fox. Nothing else interesting in the country. ahem...

MidWestIA 10-05-2022 08:24 AM

Ugly

Now it gets ugly the divorce lawyers crank up their bills by causing interactions with the other side with letters and meetings - that gets them a bigger bill. Like this - "Oh he is offering you this well that's pretty good but you should really get just this one more point" They send a change over guess what same story the other lawyer. Along the way the lawyers tell them your a getting a raw deal and they both get ticked off and want to fight.

If you don't want a terrible time get a reasonable settlement laid out and done before the lawyers that's usually the 1st one.

Nope. Totally irrelevant to me!!! Who really gives a rodent's caboose about some overage goofball who plays a kid's game for a living?

kendi 10-05-2022 09:08 AM

Yeah, so what’s the point of your post? 1- it’s already all over the news. 2- it’s none of your or our business.

How will the poor divorce lawyers make ends meet if people do this in a civilized way?:BigApplause:
