How about a hot girls and guys walk club?
|
Maybe, just maybe, - and I only speak for myself here, maybe it sounds stupid.
I don't get all this need for self reassurance of one's value, and I especially don't understand why (some) women view their value solely as to how "hot" they are, or think they are. Or others think they are. Or society says they are. Vapid. They say it takes a woman into her 40's, 50's, 60's, (if ever at all) to feel "comfortable in their skin." Meaning, at ease with themselves, their self-worth, and their value to the world. I think that is because that is how it takes women to reach a point where they don't GAF about what the world thinks about their appearance. One's self-worth and value should be determined solely in one's value and contributions to society. All this, "Oh you're so pretty, your hair is so pretty, that dress is so pretty" is always nice to hear, but one should not base one's self worth on it. That's why there is so much attention-hooring (purposely misspelled to avoid censors) and body-image issues with young women. Society's objectification of women based largely and solely on her appearance is shallow, and a first world problem. We can largely point the finger at TV commercials, beauty products, and everyone else with a ve$ted interest in making the focus of a woman's self-worth be her appearance. That's also why I think a "Hot" girls' walk is simply another symptom of a bigger issue, one that would not exist to today's extent if one simply tuned out most media, Vogue magazines, TikTok's, etc. This is why I think the idea of a "Hot" girls' walk is stupid. |

I suppose I could. But I'm not! |
That looks like they are using "hot" as a way they see themselves and as kind of a dig at what some in our cultures consider as beautiful.

If that's your thing, move back to Texas. |
Who is on the committee to decide if the people qualify for the walk??

It's Florida. We are all hot when we have to walk somewhere in the summer.

Pre-retirement, our Victim - Witness Advocate was Jeanne, a 30-ish woman who I got to know pretty well as she and I shared several clients. Very good at her job. She was also very attractive and dressed in a manner that emphasized that. Always within bounds, though, as she spent a lot of time in court and the judge was a stickler for decorum. The amazing thing was how a lot of the other women (not all, but a lot) saw Jeanne. Her work didn't matter to them. What she looked like, did, and from the remarks by some of the other women I overheard or were made to me, it was not entirely complimentary. I never quite understood that. |

Wording mattersâŚâŚâŚ.
I gave the article a quick read.
The idea of women walking in a group for safety and to meet new people is a good one, butâŚâŚâŚ.. The use of the words âhot girlsâ with the phraseâs connotation was done for the purpose of titillation, and sure enough, thatâs what it got. While claiming to be inclusive, the name of their group screams exclusive. Additionally, later in the article, it talks about the attention paid to brands of $hoes, logo$, etc. This took a good idea â walking for safety and socialization â and threw in wording to get lots of attention and hits, with the real goal of becoming an influencer. Titillation also seems to have been the goal of starting this thread, with the undertone of ageism directed at women to boot. Boomer PS: I am of the opinion that putting this thread under âJust for Funâ does not excuse all the between-the-lines implications. But being a nice lady, I will cut the OP a little slack and just conclude thoughtlessness was the problem. And I am not really self-righteous, just thought this one needed calling out. . |
Where do I sign up?

Stupid in that there are no âgirlsâ that own homes here in TV, only women in or headed to those âgolden years â.

Is it only in Texas? Maybe other states have it too; maybe other countries... Have you researched. No reason why not here...I think you just need to start it up. Maybe you can even get it listed as a club in the Villages. Of course you could make it coed. Probably make it for girls, guys, whatever's, ethics.....just don't make it exclusive to white people, especially white men. For some reason that demographic is frowned upon...I think the membership would be called sexist racists. |
