What is is the property associations of the villages function Called POA
I click on this association, and they wrote they where a group involved with matters at the village pertaining to property problems,
Just what is their function and how and what is the problems they help with. |
Best comparison is they are part time lobbyists. They have no authority and those that are on the boards are the same as you and I, people that live here and have opinions.....some well grounded and some not so much. Many folks here believe they are helpful and follow their lead rather than doing their own research. I view both clubs as part of the research.....not the final authority on anything.

Don’t take the bait. This guy doesn’t even live here but loves to start threads that will get Villagers arguing with each other. It’s just a game to him.

After 364 posts, he now knows there's little or no public transportation here and what the POA and VHA do is mostly, "smoke and mirrors,"

Their publication is mostly advertisements interspersed with negative comments about "LIFE" here in The Villages. If we had a fireplace it would make for making a "starter".

Thank's for your honest transparency.

In the 17 years I've been here, the POA fought for TV residents and pressured the Developer to address the bad roof shingles issue, issues with the gas pipes in the attic and problems with the ACs copper tubing leaking due to defective welding. The POA pushed for us until everything was repaired or replaced.
|
Easiest way to think of them is… they’re both homeowner’s associations. The VHA is friendly and supportive of the Developer and the POA has been decidedly anti-Developer.
They both play a role, but neither has very much influence on what the Developer wants and plans to do. |
They do there best.

Thank you Sir. I could have fallen for it because I respect the POA

the POA paper is left in everyone's driveway in the beginning of the month. You should read it, they are fighting for US against the developer. Interesting read, information for YOU. Don't just throw it away. It stands for Property Owners Association

PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION is the independent watchdog of Villages government and local affairs. I joined to get objective info on local issues. They’ve filed lawsuits and won. The new First Responders Rec Center was built with money the court ordered the developer to pay. The Daily Sun is developer-owned propaganda. Don’t drink the Kool Aid. Read the POA quarterly newsletter that’s delivered to your driveway free.

What papers have you been reading? I have been here 24 years and the last thing I would say is that the POA leans toward the Developer. That is the last thing it does. It sued the Developer at one point and is constantly at odds with what is done by the Developer. The POA does claim to be on the side of the homeowner and that has been fairly consistant. They are also anti-Developer when it comes to politics as the support candidates who oppose those favored by the Developer. The VHA on the other hand is a homeowner support group with much more open-mindedness on issues, although it does support the Developer in most cases.

Can you name when they actually went against the developer ? The VHA does probably do more good with their programs but those people involved in the POA are risking incurring the wrath of the establishment here. |
