Vic's Embers Supper Club

Every time I pass Vic's Embers Supper Club, I wonder what it's like, and if the food is good. Any recommendations?

We have had Vic Embers carter our neighborhood Xmas Party for the past 3 years and it has been fantastic..and we are having them again on Dec 16th.

Tumbs up on the recommendation!!!:coolsmiley:

It's always nice to have other dining options available, particularly during the winter peak season when it's difficult getting into restaurants in TV between 5-7:30 PM. Based on the menu, it doesn't appear to be any more expensive than Bonefish or Red Lobster.

Great steaks and good music. If you like a steak done Pittsburgh style, Vic's is the place to go. I miss his other place - Dead River Vic's.

I usually gauge the quality by the number of cars in the parking lot...gn

We ate there with a large group of Cane Garden regulars. Vic's Embers sent a bus to pick us and up. The food was excellent. It's a little dark in there. Take your glasses.

It's on Rte 441, not far from Babette's Furniture.

Very retro, went on a Saturday night and they had a piano bar and dancing.

Good food and old fashioned service, ceasar salad and Chateaubriand made at the table.

Plan on returning with some friends.

Charred on the outside and rare to raw on the inside.

Sometimes referred to as Black and Blue, charred on the outside, very rare on the inside.

I was taken to Vic's for my birthday last month. Everything was very top drawer. The service, the food and the entertainment were all excellent. Vic himself was not there that night having just returned from a trip to Greece. However, his son, Victor was and kept a close eye on everything. I was particularly impressed when our server told us about items on the menu that they would not be serving because they couldn't get the quality that Vic demanded.

Altogether a most enjoyable experience and a place I will certainly return to.

We went there about 3 years ago. My son ordered a fish dish and had eaten half of it when the waitress came and said he had gotten the wrong order. She was told to pick up the half eaten order before he got the correct order. This was really strange. :ohdear: What were they going to do with the half eaten order? In any case we have never been back there. Glad to hear that others have had positive experiences there.

Well that explains why my fish order was half eaten when I got it , I just assumed that they were telling me I should cut back on my eating.....

Here is a link to explain a "Pittsburgh" steak -

They do the most incredible stewed tomatoes I've EVER eaten. I actually had an additional bowl for dessert. I don't remember the exact prices, but it is a little pricey. Well worth every cent, however, IMHO.

Skip 2

Its not Dominic having the Xmas party with with Embers as the cater but our neighborhood group in Caroline. Hey, you get what you pay for and have done this for the past 3 years and the men are required or requested to wear a jacket (all do) ....ladies know how to dress. We have top name entertainment that has played at Katie Bells and the local Country clubs and resturants..not just a local DJ. Our group enjoys getting dressed up one night for a special holiday occasion and having a reputable well known area resturant serve a "sit down" diner with tuxedo waiters on real plates and with glass water goblets and wine glasses.

Think this a great place to celebrate our wedding anniversary?

Tweety Bird 11-22-2010 09:33 AM

Only if the people who are joining you agree

Vic's embers

I have not eaten at Vic's for several years but enjoyed one of the best steaks of my life when I had the opportunity to join some friends there.

missypie 11-23-2010 08:02 AM

Thanks for your reply!

I love sweet scalloped tomatoes.

If you want to make them at home.
Open a can of cut up tomatoes, add a half cup of sugar, two tablespoons of real butter and a piece of white bread torn up. Heat until hot.

They may not be as good as Vic's, but I like them. They were served to me as a child in the south end of Columbus, Ohio. (I think they used fresh tomatoes)

Oh wow!! Sounds yummy, thank you!!!!

A number of us in the neighborhood have gone at different times and all agree: at best, it's mediocre/sometimes it's awful. Service is marginal and it is very dark...60-ish wood-paneled walls. Very Disappointing. Not far away is a really good restaurant: Angelo's. Huge Italian menu.
