Happy Birthday this November 26, 2022 to Tina Turner.

Recall seeing a movie about her life about to then with my mother in Petaluma, CA back in the mid-1990s.

Her best song, and best music video, in my opinion, was 'The Best':

Ike and Tina Turner Revue

[QUOTE=Taltarzac725;2160882]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oGpFcHTxjZs

Happy Birthday this November 26, 2022 to Tina Turner.

It was late 1969 or early 1970, and I was a US Navy Reactor Operator working swing shift in the engine room aboard the USS Bainbridge (DLGN 25). We were in port at Long Beach Naval Shipyard between West Pac cruises. Sharing an apartment “on the beach” with two other guys, I was headed home after my shift, driving through the dark and dingy superstructure of the rail bridges fronting the shipyard when I passed a local bar tucked away between the steel girder supports. The marquee read “Ike and Tina Turner Revue”. I immediately wheeled around, pulled into the parking lot and went inside. Amazing. There they were - complete with the Ikettes, performing at a local bar in bowels of Long Beach, CA - right the middle of one of their world tours. It was one of those rare, amazing and unexpected coincidences we all have experienced that have enriched our lives in this great country. I made that night.

another perspective. I'm born and raised in the shadows of yankee stadium in the 50-70' and attended many diverse parties. The song played the most from tina was " bold soul sister" and " dr feelgood" from aretha, . Little known songs but they were always played along with the usual hits
