Thinking of selling a 1993 Nissan Maxima and need suggestions of how to do that in TV

I have a Nissan Maxima that is in great shape and just don't know where to advertise down at TV to sell it. Car is in great shape. Any suggestions of where and how to do that would be appreciated. I have not been able to even get on this site for a while, so this is a big achievement for me as I am not very techy. Thanks for any ideas.

Put an advertisement right here in the classified section of Talk of the Villages. If the car is in good shape, you ask a fair price, and include some good pictures it should sell quickly. We bought a great used BMW convertible through a TOTV classified add about 5 years ago and are still very happy with it. Best of luck.

Just state the mileage, price, color, and condition and you may get a deal this very moment. Who knows?????

Babubhat 12-11-2022 06:23 PM

Check Carvana or car max online for an offer

CoachKandSportsguy 12-11-2022 06:34 PM

There's not a line outside of Caravana nor Carmax for 30 year old cars. If all else fails, donate it to organizations who take cars for cancer, etc, and take the deduction.

If you want maximum coverage spend a few bucks and use The Villages Daily Sun Newspaper or if you can't afford an ad use the Ocala Craig's List.

The IRS no longer allows you to deduct the book value of a car, unless the charity uses the car for their business. If they sell the car, you can only deduct the amount that the charity actually sells it for. Personally, I wouldn't take a 30-year old car if you gave it to me.

Craigslist or e bay. It’s a bit of a hassle but the best way to reach buyers.

My mom donated my dads car after he passed, and the maximum allowable deduction was $500. a 30 year old car might fetch that, but nothing more than $1,000. And I did say, if all else fails. . . .

Sorry - no suggestion-thanks for asking?

Facebook marketplace. Just beware of scammers which you can do by stating terms of cash only and must be picked up by the person responding, not their associate.

I sold my Honda accord on Facebook marketplace in a few days. If you are asking a fair price, it shouldn’t last long. Good luck!

Three sites:
Autotrader,
Carguru,
Edmunds
All give detailed advice how to list it.
Also, good way to buy used including cpo.

My suggestion is to take it to 2 or 3 dealers & see what they’ll give you for it. The public will just tell you who they like & that’s one way to sell it. Dealers are anxious to sell you an EV so you’ll probably get a decent price out of it. But I’m not a big fan of EV’s. I heard to many complaints about EV’s in my 38 yrs. at Ford. Good Luck!

Car max might buy it. They bought our 2003 Nissan Murano with 215000 miles on it. Got $2200 for it.

That amazes me. Good for you!

Back in the late 1960s one of my classmates at GULC in D.C. had an old Mercedes Benz he drove every day. It was a late 1930s or early 1940s sedan. How he acquired it I have no idea. Bottom line is when he graduated he donated it to The Smithsonian and no doubt as a result had quite a tax write-off once he started working.

You may want to try webuyanycar.com (352-702-9818) they have a location about 9 miles away in Leesburg. They will look your car over, takes about 30 minutes and make you an offer. They buy cars to take to the auto auction in Orlando. The lady who does this is excellent and very fair. I sold a car there last year, she gave me a good price and I walked out with a check and the license plate. Yes I probably would have gotten more had I sold it myself. She handles all the paperwork, very nice not having to deal with someone who wants to beat you down on price, trying to figure out the paperwork and who signs where on the title. Having her do all the paperwork made it nice. She was extremely fair to me, saying there will make a few hundred on my car when it goes to the auction, well worth it to me to just drive in and leave with a check. Give her a call.

The car is almost 30 yrs. old. Nobody will probably give you much for a 30 yr. old car. Personally I think you would be better to try & list it & get what you can. I traded in a 6 yr. old car & they dealer only wanted to give me $4,000. for it but I finally talked them into giving me $5,500. for it.Good luck trying to sell it!
