Spectrum Mobile Cellphone
I currently have AT&T for our talk/text/data. It looks like I could cut my bill in half by going with Spectrum Mobile (we already are using Spectrum for internet and streaming TV). However, on several 'review websites', the Spectrum service is rated extremely low.....often with over 95% of the reviews rating it a 1-out-of-5! If you have Spectrum Mobile service, could you respond with your opinion of the quality of talk/text/data performance, and the quality of customer service?
Thanks! |

If Spectrum mobile is anything like their cable tv service, I would turn around and run.

I have been using Spectrum internet and Spectrum TV for several years and it's been working just fine for me, in Wisconsin and in Florida. |
AT&T was taking days to unlock our phones even though we had a zero balance. We opted to buy new phones rather than wait them out. I think Spectrum uses Verizon towers and we have great service here and while traveling.
|
I assume their cheap price is temporary for the 1st year. What would that price be and what is the price after that year is up? I've looked and can't locate that information.

We switched from AT&T to Spectrum in March. Best decision ever. Our bill is less than half and service has been excellent. We unlocked our phones online ourselves. They use Verizon cell towers so coverage is excellent, no problems even on a Caribbean cruise.
We also have their cable and internet and no problems whatsoever. A little while back Xfinity customers were complaining about constant outages. We never missed a beat. |

They require no contract !!

Spectrum and Xfinity mobile use Verizon's network. If you liked Verizon, you'll be happy with either except you will pay way less. Trick is you have to use the respective internet service. If you drop the internet, you will pay extra for the mobile...that's it

I switched from Verizon about 2 years ago. No perceptible difference in service, and the most I’ve paid is $28 monthly. Sometimes as little as $14/month, depending upon data usage. It works very well for me.

How difficult is it to keep your phone #? Does that just simply go with the phone? Or do you have to do something special?

If you're here in Florida you can get T-Mobile's 55+ plan. It's $55/year for two lines, unlimited talk, text, and data. We've had it for 5 years, and the coverage has gotten better every year. They now have more towers in the area than anybody else.
Another bonus - once you're T-Mobile you can cut the cord and go with YouTube TV with a $10/month discount as long as you're with T-Mobile! |

The Spectrum Mobile plan is $29.99/month per line (including taxes and fees) for unlimited talk/text/data. So 2 unlimited phone lines would be $59.98/month. Of course, that price requires that you also have Spectrum internet. |
We moved into Fenney in June with T-Mobile. Reception in our house was extremely poor. Hard to believe because even we aren'tas close to the Turnpike as some other villages, we aren't that far . Maybe 5G reception is better? Switched to Spectrum, much better reception. Will miss MLB TV , which was free with T-Mobile as part of their T-Mobile Tuesday perks.

Facts aren't negative they’re just facts. Do you think Verizon is going to allow someone to sell the exact same service on their network cheaper? If it's working out great for you that’s wonderful but keep in mind TV is growing fast and congestion issues may come into play down the road. |
Thanks for all the comments! I feel pretty confidant that switching from AT&T to Spectrum Mobile will not be a mistake.

I would want all the facts before making an informed decision. Maybe someone is running a business with that phone line and may not want to risk being deprioritized. I will tell you if you're ever at a crowded event like a sports stadium you might get deprioritized. |

I considered the comment negative since I view it as coming from a place where you based it on what was in the public domain and published in legacy locations and networks. Much of that has no application here since the plant being installed is mostly residential focused and the tower technology, muxing and fiber continues to multiply conversations. Choke points are still Central Office facilities when hand offs are required. |

If you want to save a buck knock yourself out but my lifeline is not the place for me to save a buck. Maybe skipping eating out one day a month would be more rational. |
