UGH! Bushes.

I'll have the grass fed beef, please. Blue-rare, thank you.

tophcfa 12-16-2022 03:36 PM

Hopefully it will be an improvement, the old impossible burgers were like cardboard. That being said, the beyond burgers aren’t bad.

Keefelane66 12-16-2022 04:41 PM

Same calories, same fat content, more expensive, tastes bad, made out of weird stuff. A solution in search of a problem.

I think it's fine----as long as they keep that garbage in California where it belongs. For the rest of us, "where's the beef?"

Agreed keep it in California where by 2045 they want to achieve what's written below. Let's see by 2045 with any luck I won't be here.

The plan, approved by the California Air Resources Board, looks to move one of the largest economies in the world to renewable energy and away from fossil fuels.

Known as the Scoping Plan, the actions and policies aim to slash fossil fuel usage to less than a tenth of current consumption by decreasing demand for liquid petroleum by 94% by 2045, mainly driven by a move away from gas-powered vehicles.

No thanks. I still have my K9 teeth, which were meant for tearing into real meat. The day I start eating fake meat, is the day I welcome someone to start throwing dirt and manure over me so I can contribute by growing mushrooms.

NotGolfer 12-18-2022 08:21 AM

Blech!!!!

Blackbird45 12-18-2022 08:28 AM

Here is the problem with all these substitutes.
It almost tasted like the real thing, or it wasn't bad.
It almost tasted like the real thing means it didn't taste like the real thing and it wasn't bad means it was tolerable.
If you want a real burger or whatever and there is not a medical reason you shouldn't eat whatever, then do so.
Just in moderation.

From the remarks I’ve read it seems like a lot of people didn’t actually watch the YouTube video.

That is for sure! The link was funny. The responses are even more comic showing that people don't read or watch in this case, all the facts before posting!

We have Beyond Burgers often, they taste good. Never have them just by themselves - always mixed with various other motley ingredients like brown rice, spinach, sweet potato peels (the rest of the sweet potato goes into a pie) sometimes beans, onions, tomatoes, and whatever. I am NOT against red meat. In fact, it is good to have red meat at least a couple of times per month because it is loaded with B vitamins. I usually go for calves liver and I mix it with brown rice. I believe that older people need a lot of protein.

HRDave 12-18-2022 11:12 AM

Nope!!

Nuff said! 😎

Vegans are Heritage-Deniers.

Byte1 12-18-2022 01:21 PM

I respect the vegan's choice, just like I respect those that eat raw sushi. It's all a matter of preference.
As for the video, awesome! But, my posts were in response to other's.

You'd think the guy's name "Shank Widdles" would've given it away.

I mean COME ON people - are you all truly THAT gullible? If so, I have a YUGE border wall to sell you. Act now and I'll throw in a couple of digital "nifties" no extra charge, a $99 value.

Gabi12 12-18-2022 08:21 PM

Not interested!

Gabi12 12-18-2022 08:23 PM

In my case you are correct. I no longer tap on a link. I've ended up in places I don't want to be or picked up malware from stuff others send me to check out. I expect that the OP would provide enough info for comment without being forced to click the link to get in on a gag.

fishon 12-19-2022 11:22 AM

It is amazing to consider that vegans find meat abhorrent and yet try to create foods from vegetables to taste like meat. If meat is disgusting why eat something that tastes like meat?

That is a very good question. Perhaps so they can convert us carnivores to organism?

I can understand it (though I enjoy an omnivorous diet). You can like the /taste/ of something, but have a strong aversion to the source. People "boycott" companies for all kinds of reasons, and find alternatives to suit their purposes.

Veganism, in my opinion, is a boycott against "using or consuming other animals or for human needs." That doesn't mean they're not capable of loving the taste of bacon. It just means they won't eat it, knowing that it came from something that once had a face.

MorTech 12-20-2022 05:52 AM

Lucky for us rational adult humans, cows/pigs/lobster/shrimp aren't cute :)
If Kale was "cute" then vegans wouldn't eat it (?) :)
Imagine the screams of terror from those cute little voiceless veggies as they are ripped from their roots...Oh, The humanity!
