It's not just here....
We keep seeing posts giving negative comments here re: drivers, round-abouts, signs, restaurants, health-care etc. regarding The Villages and surrounding areas. I belong to social media sites from the areas we lived before moving here (up north). One could insert those "there's" to "here" and vice-versa. There aren't any perfect places to live and wherever we are, it's what we make it. You either have a glass half full or half empty.
It's the season of supposedly "good will". I wonder how many could use an attitude re-adjustment??!! Let's end the year with some positive thoughts and take them into 2023. |

Stay off Social Media or learn to ignore the noise.

But threads about church food donations to Venezuelan children or the best way to prune an azalea bush just don't get much attention. |
Just like on any social media or even letters to the editors , there is always a small core of people that are very negative , the majority of people are usually happy with there surrounding. Personally I love the real negative people on TOV , sometimes there just to funny and sometimes there just unbelievable, but they are always entertaining, so here’s to more negativity it’ll brighten my day a little knowing how lucky I am to be here in the villages or anywhere else I may be and happy in my surroundings

People complain. Its human nature..

some people will complain about every little thing. No, living here is not perfect, but it beats anywhere else in my opinion

I think it's good to read up on things to keep with the current situations. You can learn some things checking these threads. But if it gets too negative just take a break. There are complainers and negative opinions everywhere, along with the positives. Some of the complaints here are not even issues that I have to deal with. Everyone has a different experience. Don't let a few bad apples get you down.
Where I used to live one would think it's a terrible place based on some negative reviews. I thought it was mostly great in the years I lived there. I grew up in Hawaii, lived in Colorado Springs and Vegas and just recently moved here. I would rather be here than those places, yes even Hawaii. My only complaints here so far is some stores that I like are not 5-10 minutes away, and I have to deal with seeing a little bit more bugs than I was used to. But to me those are not enough to not want to live here. Good far outweighs the bad so far. A lot of the problems brought up here can be problems anywhere. There are bad drivers and negative people in every state. Yes even Hawaii. Two keys to happiness anywhere are to be alert for the bad drivers and avoid the negative people. https://media1.giphy.com/media/3o6fJ...giphy.gif&ct=g |
we lived in TV for 12 years and moved....all we say now is "it's not like the Villages.

A few short years ago the villages health system was rated dead last and it really concerned us to not move here. After people complained and maybe other things happened, they were bought out and the system has gotten much better. Not perfect but night and day better. If you have a problem with your car, do you bring it up to the dealer to fix? Of course you do. If it’s a persistent problem, do you bring it up to the state for lemon law? Of course you do. If you had a kid that died along with 50 others due to a manufacture design problem, you bring it up to the state and possibly to a class action lawsuit so you can get the manufacturer to stop making them or redesign them to be safer. Not everything is perfect and you can’t make everything perfect, but you can make it better for health and safety reasons |

Social media is running wild in people's brains and 90% is all negative. |
So OP looking for utopia, everyone happy no matter what the day brings. I never believed in the Stepford Wives neighborhood.
Even Disney is not always magical. Many send warnings on businesses in TOTV, and I greatly appreciate the heads up. So OP, maybe we should just ignore some issues, and just be quiet about a neighbor who was taken advantage of, in the 2023 year, for that attitude adjustment you seek. |

Hence, even though you were about to be "hanged by the neck until dead", you would complain about the "scratchy rope"... |

REALITY, people with any brains were nice to the executioner. The professional hangman was a skilled tradesman. There were charts for required drop based on the person's weight and how athletic they were. Posters here might but, it was not wise to object to a new or old rope. |
