New Homes on 466.
Does anyone know the name of the company putting up a new housing tract
of 56 homes on 466 between Buena Vista and Morse? I do not think it is a Villages project. Can you imagine buying a new home there (I am sure they will be very nice) basically on the Palmer golf course and not being able to use the golf courses or the recreation centers or pools of The Villages? I also wonder if the homes will be fenced around them so there will not be views of the Palmer golf course. Does anyone have information on this project - completion projection, etc? I also wonder why the Morse family allowed this to happen. I am sure the Morse family is powerful on zoning boards or why they did not buy the land just to ensure this would not happen. |
I thought the new Bridgeport village was what was going in there?
Maybe we have different locations in mind.

Look in construction updates in Daily Sun. I seem to recall that these homes are part of The Villages and are being built by Developer.

Bridgeport at Laurel Valley.

Valley in the Villages??

Personally, I just love that the highest "mountain" I've seen so far in Florida is a mound of dirt made by earthmovers in TV.
|
Yep. It is an all Premier home neighborhood.
That will be an all Premier neighborhood. Hawkwind told me about it. He really watches from afar on the new areas and sends me updates because he knows we are shopping for another house as soon as we sell our Cincy one.
Hawkwind, can you tell how to go to Sumterpa.com and find all of the lots layed out there in that new area and it even has the street names? I think you go to sumterpa.com, press search and type in Bridgeport and go to the virtual map and you will be at Bridgeport at Lake Sumter on Turnberry Forest and you edge it north across the Palmer and you see it all layed out. Did that make sense? It didn't make sense to me either and I wrote it. I need coffee. Hawkwind will explain when he reads this. |
Thanks for the good information. I did not know anything about Bridgeport at Laurel Valley - but I am glad to see it is a Villages development. I figured they would be nice homes whoever put them in but an all Priemier development is great.

To look at this site got to the Sumter county property appraiser web site at http://www.sumterpa.com/GIS/Search_F.asp and on that page enter D15G046 in the parcel ID field and then hit the run search in the lower portion of the window. It will bring up property information on that parcel and now if you click on aerial map over on the right it will bring up the entire development area. You can now sue the map icons to move around that area and also click on the info icon to find out more details about the lot. It sure would be interesting to see what they actually sell for without a home.

Great site. Use it all the time.

a courtesy request for quoting

May we kindly suggest using quotes when referencing a posting, especially one with referenced info. This saves our having to go back (in this case to a previous page) and quess to which posting and link you are referring Thanks L and L |
One week ago and previous to this, there was a huge berm of dirt right near 466. Does anyone know what this is for? A golf cart tunnel?
|
That's probably just the excess dirt that is dug up from laying sewer and other utilites. I'm sure it will all be pushed back to prescribed elevations needed for construction.
|
Yup, Ooper's right. It was the left over dirt from the infrastructures (also my "mountain").

It is like including the prior note(s) in your reply to an email. There is nothing worst than getting a reply to a note with a one line answer without the note attached. IF you send several notes, you not have to go through your sent file to try and figure what they are replying to. Z |
I'm so sorry I ever posted a thing.

And I'm totally on the other side of this coin -- I really don't like when a post is copied into the response, especially a long post: it makes the posts too long, the thread too long, a royal pain to my mind. If I can't figure out what the response means, I find it's no big deal to scan previous posts to get a clue.
So, I'd say do what you're more comfortable doing. That really is one of the joys of the internet -- there is rarely just one way to do things and your way may just be perfect .... at least for you. |

The order of the posting can often be overlapped so the previous posting is often not always the one referenced. This morning's brief post by Yoda , at least on our screen, required going back to the previous page. No sweat for us, we 'got it' but betcha there are more times than many expect that many have a challenge. We appreciate a small reference, maybe even a subject line reference, but like you we don't need loonnnng winded repeats or full graphics like the bumper stickers, for instance. For example, to reference this filibuster of ours, keeping the subject line 'netiquette' or 'quoting' or including a snip would be the thing to do. L and L |

Even though it was "kindly suggested", my stomach did the same turn that yours did. It's hard to be an adult and be reprimanded. At my place of work, they call that "360 degree" coaching. I say :blahblahblah::blahblahblah::blahblahblah: I mean no disrespect, LarryandLinda...there are times when I want to correct spelling errors, but hold my tongue (or fingers, in this case!) :024: |

Thanks Hawkwind for the link. I am glad that it is a part of TV. I didn't have to go to a different page because I have my TOTV to view 40 posts per page it makes it a lot easier to view.

Netiquette and Quoting

We didn't think of a better way to suggest that s quote could help. For us, we can usually 'get it' and clicking back a page is no biggie. Because then order that responses are posted, it's not always evident, and based on the responses we';ve seen through out this and other BB's, there are even times when heated exchanges start due to ambiguity and twisted threads, especially when the topic so strays. While we know we could start another thread instead of this hitch-hiker, we know what happens in such a case - the redundancy and overlapping gets even more confusing and milky. Look at this very thread - 'homes on 466' - we're completely off topic yet few if any have edited or added an appropriate subject line. If we were looking for follow up on the homes on 466 (by the way, can they be accessed from 466, or just visible from?) we would probably not want to sift and weave in and out through a stray topic - though in this case the quoting/netiquette is a topic of universal appeal to those who use electronic BB's Though we both work 60 hour full time jobs and hours a week to volunteer, we find it's a courtesy and convenience to take a the extra few seconds to do what it takes to make TOTV a cleaner, accurate, and more efficient place to go. And you can quote us on that!!:icon_wink: L and L |

And now, back to the original thread topic!!! Bill |
Back to the original thread..... auto access will only be from 466. What I'll be curious to see is if they create a golf cart path cut through to Bridgeport at Lake Sumter (Ternberry Forest Drive?). Otherwise, residents in this new neighborhood will always have to use the multimodal path on 466 to get anywhere by golf cart. Not the most direct route to many places.
Of course, "cut throughs" work both ways ... if they build one, then residents of Bridgeport/LS will be able to use it to quickly get to 466. |
466 innie/outie to 'the Valley?"
Quote:
Soo...let's see.... If this 466 penetration for the new premier village goes just there, though they are near LSL, they need to go via auto out, around, and in? If there's car access to LSL, they're on a pathway shortcut to LSL, which we are almost certain will not happen. "ya can't get theah from heah"? Keep us briefed L and L |

There are several villages here that have to use the multi modal
paths to get anywhere except the neighborhood. It isn't like the "long way" is a trip....it might be 5 minutes!!!!!!!!!
Has anybody bought in a village they felt was restricted in any way? What we know is TV will provide the access they think is appropriate for the new village. btk |
There's a cart path running right along 466 on that side. The trouble is ..in a car you might almost always have to turn right...There is a lot of traffic on 466.
Bridgeport at Miona Shores has a stretch of public road, Rainey Trail that connects to Buena Vista, but you can go straight across and through a few neighborhoods to get to the main drag if you are in a cart / |
