Who is celebrating with fireworks?
Happy New Year to everyone! Wishing you all peace and health.
But, I'm so curious as to who is/was celebrating with personal fireworks tonight? In the historic section I've been hearing them go off since 6 or 7 pm pretty much non stop! I must admit I'm way past my party days so tonight is just another night, so I'm curious if it's any of you Villages residents firing those babies up. I don't mind them, just wondering if it's us or neighbouring non villagers that I can hear from here. In any case, CHEERS everyone! |

It is all those "up norths" and all those locals.

Sounds like the Lake Weir area, with other rural areas doing some celebrating ! Reflexes are too slow in Villages to light a cherry bomb and throw it

Those fireworks started around midnight about the time the fat lady sang when Georgia bet Ohio in the Peach Bowl.......:1rotfl: :boom:

Hopefully no one was shooting firearms. In NM cities and towns it is quite common and every year people have holes punched in their roofs - and worse - by descending bullets as what goes up has to come down somewhere.

On new year’s day we went over to Lake Okahumpka Rec Center to take a stroll and heard more of what we thought was the same celebrating, but were quickly informed it was duck hunters out on the lake. It’s pretty wild down here! 😅 |
Why are you curious?

I’d say you hate them and you’re looking for a fan base Consider Vets and Pets and “No” to fireworks!!

A bunch of idiots trying to blow a hand off while keeping their neighbors up in the middle of the night. What a thrill!

i can tell you who was firing them, inconsiderate people who don't care about the misery they bring to veterans with PTSD, domestic pets and wild animals. Why anyone enjoys the noise, while it causes so much suffering, is beyond comprehension.

I live in historic and heard them from about 6 o'clock on. They were so mild and sporadic, it was ridiculous. It certainly was not a "show" by any means (very disappointing lol) which leads me to believe it was older folks having a good time. But I promise you this, it was nothing that would upset a skittish dog or someone with sensitivities....trust me. I know, i live with one.

I heard them also. Some local and some in the distance that sounded like city or town sanctioned.

I guess you can say the same thing for loud pipes on cycles and antique cars allowed on our streets in all hours of the day.
But THAT seems to be acceptable. |

So what I hear some on here saying, is that fireworks should be illegal as they can cause a negative reaction to some people and pets. I wonder how many vets and pets live in Orlando. They have nightly fireworks.
