Welcome & enjoy yourself! It’s a great place … oh and yes take the negativity with a pinch of salt! Some people are just cranky!!

You will love it here. Soon you will meet neighbors and people at the Squares, clubs, restaurants, pools, etc. My husband met some of his best friends through playing golf. I met friends at the Rec Center work-out gyms. People are very friendly here so it won't take long for you to meet people.

Dmac....sign up on Nextdoor.com for helpful information around the neighborhood. Also, get used to using Districtgov.org for all Villages information and finally get the Newcomers Guide from your realtor.

I recommend you get yourself a map and mark where your house is on it!! Hahaha It's easy to get lost when first navigating this huge environment, but Welcome and enjoy Citrus Grove, I think .;)

Make sure to sign up for “Village of Citrus Grove” (The Villages Florida) on Facebook for all the latest. Every other Friday many meet at the mailboxes for a gathering at 530, it’s BYOB or other(at least a 100 or so folks). It is a great place to meet your neighbors. There are 50/50s sold if you are interested to benefit the AED drive. It’s a great village with lots to do. You will love it.

Also we have a dog park, Sawgrass, Ezell, Homestead and Southern Oaks all close enough to walk to. There is a bridge almost completed nearby to cross over the turnpike too. We aren’t sure what will be over there except a new town called Eastport, but it seems exciting.

Welcome to The Villages David. Take a little time to acquaint yourself with the place and the many ways to enjoy it. Realize there are a few negatives, but don’t let them affect your enjoyment of the place and most of the people you will meet.

Welcome! Beware of LOTS of traffic due to BIG influx of snowbirds and population explosion. Anyway, a great place to live!! Enjoy!

He's from Atlanta... He knows traffic. Traffic in TV is nothing compared to Atlanta...

Welcome, David! This may not be your style, but when I moved here, I had an Open House. I invited my neighbors and asked them to bring a dessert, appetizer, etc.
I continued that for a while. It helped us all to get to know each other.
People started having driveway parties, etc. Friendships grew. Best wishes for you!

Welcome David. Will be three years February 4. Great place to live. Security is phenomenal, neighbors watch our home when we travel. If you play golf you can always find a tee time early or late and especially when it is a hot July day.
