Hi all! We are looking for a good refrigerator repairman/woman for an LG refrigerator. Would love recommendations! Thank you in advance!

Had a 5 year old LG refrigerator die back in December. They have the worst compressors in the industry. Costs nearly as much to replace the compressor than to buy a new refrigerator. Plenty of class action suits on LG for their compressors. Repair man said he could replace, but would likely fail again in a few years. Beware of LG refrigerators.

Our freezer part of our fairly new LG failed yesterday. Jerry said we could get the compressor from LG for free but it would cost $500 for labor. He said it would probably fail again or leak. He recommended just get a new one, not LG or Samsung. Went to Lowe’s yesterday and ordered a Frigidaire.

Interesting. It sounds like he didn't want to do the work. I watched a YouTube video where a guy replaced an LG compressor on a refrigerator. It took him 7 minutes.

Call LG customer service and they will refer you to certified technicians in your area that are trained for LG.

It's possible. But, a "fairly new" LG refrigerator would have a 5-year warranty on the compressor that covers both materials and labor. So, if the repair company was authorized by LG to perform warranty work, I don't understand the labor charge.

How old was your LG?

Can you provide some additional information about your LG refrigerator. To me, "fairly new" means that it is less than 5 years old. Is that correct? If so, why didn't your warranty cover the compressor and the labor to install it? The LG refrigerator warranty appears to cover parts and labor for their compressors.

Had no luck with Beck but did with DeSantis.

We had a 6 year old LG refrigerator up north that went out just a couple weeks before closing. No one at the company could figure out our problem, not even the engineers. Ours wasn’t a compressor issue. I wouldn’t waste lots of money on this brand.

They hate Youtube because you can DIY on most anything. Repairman hate YT big time.
