I am up to the part where the Jamie Lee Curtis character comes in for the Everything Everywhere All at Once film but will get back to it. Did probably see Top Gun: Maverick two times in the theater and two times on digital. Great movie!! |
And on the other side of the coin.....
Razzie Award Nominations 2023: Jared Leto, Tom Hanks and 'Blonde' - Variety |
Could not see a film there I would pay to watch, and there is no way I would waste electricity watching the Oscars, and listen to a load of "I want to thank the world" BS.
Back to my book! |
Got tired listening to a bunch of pompous jerks tell the world what they think of world affairs.

Award shows are political statements

Used to love watching the Oscars, but I don't see many films at the theaters anymore. Top Gun and Elvis were very good, but like others, I am tired of all the political statements at the show, so I will probably skip it.

I love the Oscars. My favorite time of year. So many movies to watch in time for the March 12th ceremony. Getting that popcorn ready!

We were not too far from Lucas Films when we lived in Rohnert Park, CA. Lucasfilm Ltd. | Lucasfilm.com And movie production trailers would often be parked at the Red Lion Inn in Rohnert Park just across the fairway from us when my parents lived bordering the golf course in Rohnert Park, CA. They would be preparing to go to locations in Sonoma, Napa and Marin Counties to make films. The trailers were usually only a few hundred feet from us out our back door. |
Yawn! Snorrrr....
|
I recall that there was a rumor that Sylvester Stallone snuck into the Red Lion Inn using a nun's habit when they were filming Stop or My Mother Will Shoot.
I did talk to a few people who might have been attached to movie making but that was usually about all the duck poop around the pathways and on the greens. Or about some other nothing matter. |
Agree, don’t want to listen to a bunch of people who are not connected to the real world spouting their opinions

......Now back to Banshees ......the last 25 % of the movie was excellent as a movie, but it got so GORY in an INTENSE manner that I wished that I had not seen the end or even from the 3/4 point. And I am USUALLY NOT put off by violence, but the violence in Banshees was not as bad as some other movies, but it was so believable that it was as if I was actually there and friends with the 2 of them. It IS hard to explain, but the movie was SO good that it was TOO GOOD. It was hard to turn away from that movie, but I wish that I had !!!!!!!! Both actors were incredible! |
I hope you saw Top Gun: Maverick . Really entertaining.

I had found this very odd given the image of Eddie Albert I had. Never would have thought he was in one of the most violent battles of WWII Battle of Tarawa - Wikipedia and had saved a number of men. He had gone to the U of Minnesota like me. University of Minnesota - Wikipedia |
