Old bathroom toilets

Hello, looking for some
Information. Would anyone know if there is a free drop-off location to dispose of toilets that have been replaced in a Villa here in The Villages? I know the regular garbage pick-up will not take them and I’m just looking at options other than having to pay someone to come pick it up. I also realize that paying a company to pick it up could be the only option we have - looking to see if anyone would know. Thank you.

Can't speak for here, but up north I would take a hammer and break them into smaller pieces. Then I would throw the pieces away in regular trash bags over a course of weeks.

One piece at a time, and it didn't cost me a dime.

I’ve disposed of 12 toilets here. I remove the tank from the bowl and place them for regular trash day(s). Never had an issue where they didn’t take them. YMMV

We tried that last night, had the tank off of the base, the cover to the tank in a separate box and they left everything there. They even took the tank cover out of the small box, took the box but left the ceramic cover behind! That is not happening. 😂

Does anyone have the trash company’s number to call for the special pick-up? Thx.

I’d recommend posting an ad on Craigslist. They have a free section. Best not to fill up a landfill.

You sure go through a lot of toilets.

Garywt 01-26-2023 09:44 PM

Front yard planter will work. Just don’t put a white cross in it.

Habitat for Humanity takes old toilets I believe. They are in Leesburg. 352-762-6366. instead of throwing things away, someone could use it.

A lot of toilets replaced here are merely for different styles or flushes and are still superior to what many people have in the surrounding county. The right price is free, and in the ad describe the condition, brand and model, round or extended, how high, and if possible distance tO the wall from the center of the drain hole.

I replaced three toilets and sold them on Craigslist for $30 each. I stored them in the garage and a guy who was renovating a rental unit came and got them. Win-Win

City of Lady Lake has a recycling center, yard waste and trash drop off location. It is off Rolling Acres and Jackson Rd. just south of 466. Open Tues. and Sat. from 8-5.

jarodrig 01-28-2023 07:27 PM

Stick it on your front yard and turn it into a planter …. And then see how long it lasts there !
