We are looking for a church with good Christian Contemporary music. We have had no luck. We would like it to be near The Villages. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You should have no problem finding contemporary Christian music in churches here in The Villages - the bigger challenge is to find a church that still sings hymns and has a traditional choir each Sunday. I’ve ended up traveling to Winter Garden to attend a traditional, fundamentalist, Bible-centered church.

As of now, to my knowledge, The Villages only has one church.

However, a new one is being built along Meggison Road, so you have doubled your chance to find one that suits you.

Actually there are probably a dozen or more churches near the Villages or just boarding it.

Live Oaks Community Church. Couple blocks off 466 behind Wal-Mart. Very welcoming with a variety of contemporary Christian music.

Connection Point church in Fruitland Park. 12 minutes from 44 & Morse

Hope Lutheran Church on 466 and Morse Blvd has a contemporary service at 4:00 on Saturdays. Wonderful! 8 and 10 am on Sundays are traditional services, sometimes with a full choir.

The Garden Worship Center is a non-denominational Church with great contemporary music. It’s at 12740 SE Highway 484, Belleview, FL 34420

Very different for someone coming out of California! There may still be hope in Cali!!

Church of the lakes
 

Church of the lakes in Leesburg has amazing worship. It's only about a 10 or 15 minute drive

Join us Sunday at 10 am. Connection Point Church Fruitland Park. Contemporary Christian music. Non-Denominational church

Check out Heritage community church in fruit land park. Terrific music and a great message.

Connection Point in Fruitland Park

I had the same search when I moved here and I visited over 20. Be wary - almost all the churches I have seen mentioned here do NOT have contemporary Christian music. When the choir sings a Chris Tomlin song, that is not contemporary, for example. Adding a set of bongos to your choir does not make it contemporary Christian. Here are some that I visited that do have actual contemporary Christian music. Church @ The Springs, Village View, Connection Point, The Garden and Heritage. There are none inside the bubble, unless it is very new.

Not a boring program & good sermon try it - The Father's House Church

Village view community church. Wonderful church north end of the villages. I sang in the choir for 3 years.

New Life Christian Church has fabulous music with Bible-based messages.

Try the new Freedom Fellowship Church of The Villages on 462 between 466A and 301. It is currently meeting in a large tent, like an old fashioned campmeeting. They really rock out.

I still watch my old church in Minneapolis online (Sanctuary Covenant Church) multi-generational and multi-ethnic. Online is not the same as in person. Looking for a Covenant Church similar to SCC down here. Any help would be appreciated! :)

We are on the north end and we’re looking for the same thing. After many visits, Live Oaks was as close as we could find, but stuck in the 80’s-90’s frame of reference.

We were also looking for a church that centered on Jesus teachings of love, etc. and that ended up being our swing point. That had a scripture centered teaching message and great ministries for involvement.

New Covenant United Methodist Church checked all but the music box. They do have a contemporary service on Saturday, but we chose the early Sunday service. The music is wonderful, if traditional, and we use the radio to get our contemporary music fix.

I’m looking for songs like those from Hillsong, Lauren Daigle, Big Daddy Weave and a good pastor. Do any of these churches stream their contemporary services? I’ve been to The Father’s House and it is good. I prefer Lakeside in Clermont and Journey in Orlando, but I attend virtually because they are too far for regular attendance and I prefer to support my local community here.

Try 'grace tabernacle'
 

Try attending "Grace Tabernacle" Church, which is located just west of Morse Blvd., on the south side of CR 468. Sunday services start at 10:00 am with live worship music for 20 to 30 minutes.

Contemporary Music
 

Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. Near Lakeside Landings. 8 AM traditional, 10:15 AM contemporary music. Small church - friendly people.

Northlake Presbyterian Church on Rolling Acres Road, right on the border of The Villages has a contemporary service. The music is lead by Dave Sanders of Uncle Bob’s Rock Shop. As contemporary a service as I have attended in many locations. May not be “contemporary” to a 20 year old, but we have lived and traveled in a lot of places and this is what contemporary looks like in many of them.

We attend Freedom Fellowship on 462 just north of 301. There are several churches on the street. It's cal;led church row. They're in a large revival tent right now but are building a new church very soon. The Pastors are fabulous and the music is outstanding, one of the reasons we went there. Services are 9:30 Sunday only at the moment. Great group of people!

North Lake Presbyterian Church
 

North Lake Presbyterian Church has a contemporary service on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am. They also have traditional services at 8:15 and 11:15 am. It's a welcoming church with a lovely campus and excellent preaching that relates to current life.
They are located at 975 Rolling Acres Road (right behind Home Depot) in Lady Lake.

New Life Christian Church nondenominational. They have an awesome choir and orchestra even a harp. Performance varies each week. Last week a dancer set to Worship music, really amazing and not a very large Church. Always come away with having learned something from the Sermon.

There’s still a few of us - and John MacArthur is still in California holding down the fort and challenging Newsom.
