Orthopedic surgery referrals?

Not much left working in my old shoulder these days.
Hurts like 7734 to play picklebal or lift weights.

Need to get it repaired but don’t want to make a bad Dr. Choice.

Got any experience?

Had rotator cuff repair surgery 16 months ago, done by Dr. Krueger from the Orthopedic institute. Did a great job and was highly recommended when I was looking for a doctor to do the surgery.

My husband was pleased with the orthopedist care at UF Health on Rt 441 opposite the hospital. He has seen two different specialists there. The shoulder doc was Dr Jay Cook. Good luck!

CTFORSBERG 03-11-2023 04:37 AM

Yes, the best around as he’s a specialist with shoulders! Look no further. Not the best bedside manner but who cares if results are excellent. Good luck to ya.

Dr Radnothy

I can only tell about my experience. He replaced my right knee and it was a terrible experience. My right knee is much bigger than the left, which was done by another doctor and the range of motion is half of right knee. Would never recommend. Marty

Agree- had surgery Thursday at Leesburg. I have had this surgery before and the experience from the time I walked in until I went home was top notch, especially when you hear all the negatives here….

Dr Krueger repaired mine too. Three tears. One full thickness that required a patch. I have full mobility. He was fabulous.

Dr. O replaced my knee and it had to be re-done.

Bjeanj 03-11-2023 04:07 PM

Dr. Alfred Cook-Advanced Ortho did my left shoulder a year ago. Good results.

Miken666 is correct IMO. Doesn’t matter how good the doctor is. No one can do as good as Mother Nature. Set your expectations accordingly.

Wife's got knee issues. Many patients in waiting room shared with us about their getting the 'chicken' injection. Some Visco fluids that work like replacement cartilage. Anybody here that can shed more light on this procedure ?

I got the injections for a few months, and boy oh boy do they hurt! I may have waited too long before I started getting the shots, but they were not effective for me. I’ve spoken to others who said they worked great for them, so it may be a matter of timing.

My wife got a series of three shots in 2015, there was no pain and she is still doing well. We are seasonal and used Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. They built a facility two years ago in West Palm Beach, I was just there for a shoulder issue.Good luck.

happehart 03-12-2023 02:25 PM

I had a reverse full shoulder replacement done as an out patient by Dr. Cook 2 years ago & couldn't be more pleased. I had zero pain throughout the surgery , recovery & therapy. It had no adverse effect on my table tennis game, it didn't help either.
