Wine. Storage
I am moving into the villages and would like to bring my modest wine collection (20 cases). Is there any place nearby to store wine at cellar temperature.

Drink up or buy a wine cooler. |
A couple of the local restaurants have wine storage on site. Not sure if it’s FMK or Suliman group. The task at hand is shipping cases down, there are companies that will truck down in special trucks. Cost is not outrageous, especially if you have that rare Screaming Eagle. Off site storage is not that far away, in Orlando, again if you have a extensive collection, you are not opening up a bottle that often anyway.
Ours is still in our cellar up north, once we get settled, we are adding on a small controlled room off our office, bringing down our entire system, racks and all. If your collection isn’t rare wines, then you can sell what isn’t worth shipping down. Plenty of online sites are available, or you can use a brokerage. |

Mr. Obvious here..................I vote for a nice refrig.

Can’t imagine how much it’s costing you to ship them down in a refrigerated container.
A wine fridge in the house is best. You have the kitchen area and the dining room area - don’t need 2 places to eat, take table out of one and put a wet bar with a 250 bottle eurocave. |

My advice to you is DRINK IT. You are not getting any younger, enjoy it while you still can.
P.S. if you need help contact me. :-) |
If this is investment wine, a wine fridge is not the answer. Between temp swings, and vibration from motor you will have a hard time selling it.
Our investment wines are stored at a facility, that will verify storage, pack and ship sold bottles. Our expensive celebration, wine is in our wine cellar. Our everyday wine is racked away from light and temp fluxes. A closet as long as it is on a outside wall can be converted to a wine cellar. Florida has more wine Masters, Advanced, Certified than most states, and a few have excellent wine cellar companies, that will quote you on converting a space in your home, to an excellent wine storage. Our other home in TV has a small office, that would make an excellent wine cellar, but we are moving so new plans are in the works |

We have a wine cooler in the garage that holds 300 bottles and a full house generator if the power goes off. So the wine is safe.
