Toilet paper

I buy toilet paper in bulk. It is convenient and cheap. Aldi TP is thin and poor quality. Costco Kirkland TP flakes lint. Sam’s Club Members Mark seems to be best. Comments.

Good job. Everybody should have a hobby.
😁

Toilet paper is expensive. Here’s a hint. You can cut your cost for the stuff by 50% if you use both sides.

Bilyclub 03-20-2023 08:03 AM

Whatever floats your bowl.

MrFlorida 03-20-2023 08:04 AM

Really ?

Keefelane66 03-20-2023 09:17 AM

Sounds like years of research

retiredguy123 03-20-2023 01:55 PM

I don't use toilet paper. I use "bathroom tissue".

Silly request get silly responses.🤪

Jima72 03-20-2023 06:12 PM

I don’t care the brand as long as the fingers don’t break through while in acrion.

Garywt 03-20-2023 06:16 PM

Palms work pretty good. I go around the Villages to get the best ones.

fdpaq0580 03-20-2023 08:25 PM

60 grit for a deep clean.
Do not flush.
Save and dry.
Sand and stain wood at the same time.

OrangeBlossomBaby 03-20-2023 08:48 PM

Serious reply:

I like Walmart's "strong and soft" generic store brand, you can buy a double-sized 9-pack for a reasonable price.

Hubby prefers what I like to call sandpaper - thin and scritchy. So I get that at Staple's, they also have their own brand, there's like 20 double-rolls for under $20 when it's on sale, and for most men - that's almost a year's worth.

I had a full new package of them plus around half a package when we moved down, so we didn't even come CLOSE to running low during the pandemic when you couldn't get any TP from any store or online anywhere at any price.

Now, that's funny.

Just walk a few steps into the bathtub/shower and do a quicky minute rinse with a small amount of soap. Way cheaper than toilet paper and you don't need to spend huge amount of money on a bidet. Bidets do break down with all their intricate working parts, and replacement is not cheap, as compared to replacing a showerhead.

That's what that bidet thingy is for!
Been cleaning my gardening work boots in that for years!

you seem to have a firm grip on the fecal matter

Rylee 03-21-2023 04:45 AM

I stopped using it when it went over a dollar a roll.

Rwirish 03-21-2023 04:58 AM

Save money, use the back of your hand and then rinse.

mikeycereal 03-21-2023 05:03 AM

Was seriously considering a bidet the last few years. Just haven't followed through and tried it yet.

Sam's is very good. But since that's all I'd buy in bulk, it's not worth the yearly membership fee. I like Charmin now.

True story. When I worked on Saudi Arabia building military bases, the "Bedouins" were drafted from the desert to serve in the military. They had always used rocks instead of toilet paper. The toilets in the barracks were soon getting clogged up with rocks, so they had a training session on how to use toilet paper. Shortly after that, the toilets started getting clogged up with rocks wrapped in toilet paper.

Ug, one of the “hole in the walls” I never want to return to. I had to use the “public restroom” from time to time there. Most on this board couldn’t make it past the entrance to the public facilities. The SMELL…the condition etc. Believe me, perfume can’t cover everything.

This brings to mind the hand they chop off from thieves at “Chop Chop Square”. The right hand is taken; because it is used to wipe with and then hosed off.

sdeikenberry 03-21-2023 05:27 AM

BJ's brand...inexpensive and effective.

WingedFoot78 03-21-2023 05:28 AM

Well, that's a refreshing way to start the day off!

Bellavita 03-21-2023 05:40 AM

Well we have really got to the bottom with this post

Good to know. Thank you.

VickiF 03-21-2023 05:49 AM

Costco for us
There are countries that use tp but don’t flush it. They put it in the trash.

Thank you! I for one think this is a serious subject albeit odd to raise in a public forum. Admit I did like the humorous responses however

A wise person once told me never shortchange yourself on toilet paper. Find other ways to save.

Normal 03-21-2023 05:59 AM

A Business Owner’s Profit is what is all about. If you sell thin TP, just jack up the prices on hand soap!

Kohbar Towers in SA was built for the Bedoins but they refused to live there. Beautiful multi level buildings with hardwood floors. Left vacant until it was offered to billet the US military during the first Gulf War. Toilet plumbing wouldn’t accept t.p. So used T.p. Was placed in trash bags. Yes over there the locals did use their left hands and a water rinse to clean their bums

They put plumbing in Kohbar eventually. We got to stay there for R and R to Bahrain time. Then some idiot blew it up.
