It is interesting with all those definitions listed, not one applies to the definition of MMP's here in The Villages.

Of course they don’t mean the same thing as here in TV - we simply use an acronym specific to our location.

How civil of you to actually answer the poster respectfully ! Really tells something about our community to see people making such immature remarks like, if you LIVE here, you should know. I often wonder what that kind of thing does for the person making such an arrogant comment...those who do that must get some kind of internal reward, who knows ? Maybe it was meant to make the person who asked fell "dumb", "stupid" ? So easy to just reply like you did, make a friend, not tear down another "just because" it's anonymous !

Funny thing is, I never thought of how many TLAs (three letter acronyms) there were for mmp, at first I thought the OP must have been confusing it with some new medical condition that was advertising their new drug on TV. Then I read it again and realized it was an honest question and not trolling.

Sadly, we have lost a lot of civility with the gains in digital courage.

Yes, likely does know what it means here. But, I took is as a topic for conversation. Acronyms are often used in articles, but never explained. Therefore persons reading said articles may be at a loss if they are not familiar with the subject or context. People who use acronyms without first explaining the meaning run the risk of being misunderstood.

It is mostly men here who criticize people's questions. They do this because of frustration caused by their small- um, their little, um, their tiny Egos.

How do you measure um, "egos"? Have you personally measured a lot of, ah, "egos" here? Standard or metric? Do you take into account the effect of temperature or interest in various types of inducement?

Well, lol, it is Florida, and according to the dictionary, MMP does also stand for Marine Mammal Program... LOL !

Not a surprise it's connected to ego. Sad part is, when you meet new people and the conversation turns to "social media" for villagers (some ask if there is a specific FB page for residents), I've found some who say, "oh yes, we did find the Talk of the Villages site and a lot of people seem to just have inside jokes and make fun of new people who ask questions". I always try to explain to log in for awhile, that there are some truly caring, helpful, people, with great information !

On this site intended use of certain MMP's on said list written as a post or thread could be contrued improperly resulting in an infraction of terms of the site. So be careful how you use MMP LOL.
