Looking for a Church Home for Traditional Conservative Values
We are looking around for a church home that supports our traditional conservative values. As a couple, we are looking for open, patriotic, God fearing, folks that still know how to get things done while having a sense of humor. What we don't want is head in the sand let's ignore the reality of our country's desperate situation. If you are happy with your church and it fits this description please let me know.

St. Mark's on 42, a traditional Catholic Church with rock solid preaching and great music.

First Baptist Church of The Villages. Don't take my word for this check it out for yourself.

If you want a church that follows the bible - in it's entirety - and don't need fancy bells and whistles, Open Bible Lutheran Church in Oxford is fantastic. It's a very friendly congregation, and the pastor is amazing!
Services at 4:00pm on Saturday and 9:30am on Sunday. The Sunday service is far more heavily attended than the Saturday service. |
Freedom Fellowship in Wildwood. Under the big white tent

I can sorta relate to your question - though churches are many here in The Villages, most do not line up with my doctrinal requirements, and many don’t include doctrinally rich hymns in their worship services, but pop-like choruses that are shallow and sound like something you’d hear on the radio. (More entertainment-oriented than reverence worship of God). Also, most churches do not have pastors that preach expositionally (verse-by-verse from the Bible), but more topical and self-help type messages (think Joel Osteen), that refrain from such use of words like “sin” “repentance” “hell” etc.
I found an excellent church (in the John MacArthur vein), in Winter Garden, but the drive is just a bit too far, especially if I want to return for mid-week Bible studies and other weekly church functions. I have attended Faith Presbyterian in Oxford a few times. They are part of the smaller ARP denomination, and not the very liberal Presbyterian- USA. It is a smaller, but conservative congregation. Though I’ve never been a Presbyterian, I line up with this conservative branch of Presbyterianism on all major doctrinal areas, taking issue with a few very minor points of secondary doctrine. Please feel free to message me if you would like to talk further. |

I would recommend to stop attending church as they no longer have a place in society for the intelligently aware individuals looking for spiritual direction. Look within for calm and do the things that bring peace and stability to your mind.

First Baptist Church of Leesburg on 466A. Three Sunday Morning services and great messages

I will pray for you.

Connection Point Church, Fruitland Park
Bible lead, non-denominational services. Contemporary rock Christian music. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Give it a try.

"Religion" is man made but a relationship with a higher being, to some known as God, can solve that internal conflict. Communion to worship and have fellowship (known as "church") with other like-minded people that share a common faith (where intelligent awareness and spiritual direction meet) is a vital part of spiritual existence in which "church" cannot be irrelevant. Advice to OP, keep seeking and find the church in The Villages area that aligns with your beliefs and speaks to you. |
Live Oaks Community Church (LOCC) behind Wal-Mart on 466. Good folks, pastoral staff who can relate to the congregation. Their strength is that they teach from the Bible, and emphasize "Christian" (some debate on what that means, I suppose) values in completely apolitical and non-finger-pointing sort of way. They treat visitors exactly the same as registered parishoners.
They also do a lot of outreach (packaging food for hungry children, helping the community members who cannot help themselves through a "honey-do" list as well as a program called "The Church Has Left The Building") where they have direct contact with people (as I understand it, not necessarily members of LOCC) and help them in various ways. Bottom line: they're not Bible-pounders, and do not try to shove religion down your throat. To me they seem to live by the rule "let your life preach". |

Check out Lake Deaton United Methodist Church on 44A. It is close to the south of 44 villages and the 10:30 service is traditional. It is a new church and growing.

Patriotic? Personally, I view church as spiritual and not a place for any political agendas. Thus, the whole reason for the 200+ years separation of church and state.
Thankfully, my relationship with God is only based on love and compassion. I don’t fear God, but I’m sure there are some churches out there that still want you to fear the devil AND God (God-fearing). Personally, that just doesn’t make sense to me. Good luck. |
Is there any church near the Villages that provides some good, old fashion bigotry? I like to hide my hatred behind the cloth of a church's preachings! That way I can say its my religion, not my intolerance of others.

Your request for a church sounds just like Live Oaks Community Church. There are 2 campuses. One (Southern Oaks) is at 44 and Buena Vista. The other (Woodridge) is located behind Walmart on 466. Official address is 12070 CR 103, Oxford, FL 34484. Would love to have you come by either and check us out.

And maybe some people find that going to church helps provide that calm, peace and stability to their minds? To each his own, right? |

If they don't have a chapter here I'm sure you can open one. All you need is an outfit and a few videos that mock others' strongly held beliefs that have been around for over 2000 years. |
