Do you know an honest, reliable lawn service that could mow my lawn? I'm not able to mow it myself. Thank you in advance for your help.

I just fired Massey last month, as you never knew if or when they might show up to mow - I’ve been with Dean’s for almost a month now - so far so good- they show up like clockwork each week, and send me an email detailing services rendered each time they come out.

Probably should not answer since we mow our own... with a self-propelled of course...LOL ! But Felipe does several on our block who are not able to use even a self-propelled mower due to health issues, and none of them have ever quit the his business or tried anyone else. Had the same guy for many years now (Felipe ? Philipe ?) but they have told us things like not specifically scheduling something (like gutters) and told him they were worried about it, and he said don't worry, I'll check them out for you. One time the neighbor who uses a walker, could not get his chair back into the garage when rain started, Felipe was doing his yard when it started and stayed in the rain getting wet himself because he knew the neighbor was not able to bring the chair in.... so seems kind and conscientious. At the same time it seems every time we go to a club or activity, people are telling about how terrible Massy (Massey ? Sp ?) service is, how they get weeds and fungus constantly and have to call, or they come back from vacation and find things ignored, same with a place called Deans, and others. Seems it must be difficult to find an honest, conscientious, person to do this. Meanwhile we do our own in place of having to pay a gym membership to try to keep healthy...LOL !

It might be a good idea to ask your neighbours who they use and if they're happy with them.

Neighbors are mixed with Massey and Deans signs. The guy who cuts my grass does it too short, I had to ask a few times to keep it 4" because the roots are burning. Seems like they want to collect their monthly by shaving the grass too low. Thinking of going elsewhere.

Good luck in finding one. I would search on google for the owners name.
They are not regulated by DBPR. my neighbors 4 out of the last five they had were convicted felon's and one served repeated jail time over 20 year period.
Install some cameras also.

I have a suspicion (with no proof) that there are one or two guys on lawn crews (probably without employer knowledge) who are on the lookout for things like e-bikes in areas where they can be stolen. They might not steal the things themselves. They might sell addresses and details for a few dollars each. Lawn crews may have a half dozen minimum wage workers, and do you recognize all of them? I wouldn’t accuse a person unfairly, but I had an unused $3400 electric bike stolen from inside a garage with an opaque sliding screen door. No idea who did it, but the bike might have been seen by someone with a power blower blowing grass off my driveway, but not by someone out on the street. I wouldn’t have recognized anyone on that crew.

Does Felipe's service the southern areas? Also does he take care of weeds in the beds?
I know Son Life does south and heard good things but do they take care of weeds in the beds?
My service does an okay job with mowing, even though I think they mow a little too short, but I'm not there for the summer and I keep reminding them but can't get them to take care of weeds.
I have cameras and see when they come and hope I'll see them take care of weeds each time but they don't even look in the beds. I can see the weeds on the camera so they're getting pretty bad.

R Perez and Sons do a good job with my lawn, bushes and weeding. Very reliable.

Watch out for Massey. My neighbor hired them about 6 months ago and they seeded with St Augustine in a Zoysia area. It's invaded my lawn now.

For the life of me, I don't understand why answers don't include the Village the responder lives in and the phone number of the individual or company you use. The Villages is vastly spreadout area of over 130,000 people and most lawn guys cover and area. It might help those seeking lawn mowing services to have a little more info

I fired Massey too. Started fine but got very inconsistent about showing up and quality of work especially the trimming. Went to Dean’s and they really started great, BUT again have been getting very sloppy when it comes to trimming. You have to wonder when it takes a homeowner 2-3 hours to cut their lawn and these companies do it in 2-3 minutes. One thing about Massey if it didn’t need to be cut they wouldn’t cut it and wouldn’t charge you. Dean is going to cut it need it or not and hit you every week with the charge. Those cuttings are down to about 1 minute. Trim a couple spots. Since Dean charges your account I’m never sure if the bills and service work out together.

Deans since we came in August 2022 and do a great job with email of service done each visit/charges are what was quoted. The employees are personable and efficient.

Didn't know they were taking new customers.
