Maybe the person delivering it had car problems, maybe someone was in the hospital, maybe they were sick.
Life happens.

MrFlorida 06-25-2023 08:16 AM

Your paper was late, and you have to post it here ?

I assure you that the articles contained therein were just about as stale, outdated, useless, or trivial as they were had you received the paper at 7 AM.

JGibson 06-25-2023 10:06 AM

I get their paper every day, never asking for it or paying for it.
I think it's a free trial that has been going on for like 4 months now. lol.

H,mm there must be a name for this…………..maybe stealing?

Keefelane66 06-25-2023 11:08 AM

It’s not stealing if someone leaves it in your driveway

I am getting a free subscription for a 6-month period, but I had to call them to start it. The problem is that, in the first 3 weeks, I have yet to read it. Thinking of cancelling. But, I agree that if you are getting something you didn't order, it is stealing to not notify them. It is the same concept if money shows up in your bank account.

Don't know why.

But if you ever don't rcv the paper early in the day, you probably know the typical contents anyway...>>>

By law, companies can't send unordered merchandise to you, then demand payment. That means you never have to pay for things you get but didn't order. You also don't need to return unordered merchandise. You're legally entitled to keep it as a free gift

Correct, but this is not the same situation. If someone is giving you something every day for 4 months, and you have no intention to pay for it, you have a legal obligation to ask the sender if this is a gift or a mistake. I think that, if the Daily Sun went to court, the court would require the homeowner to reimburse the company under the concept of equity. The same concept applies if your bank deposits $10,000 instead of $1,000 into your account. You cannot keep the money.

I think all the writer was asking was if anyone knew of a problem with the Daily Sun paper delivery that day. For example, was there a power failure at the printing plant so the presses couldn't run, or was there a computer problem where they couldn't send the stories to the press room, or if any other neighborhood got their paper late that day. Otherwise someone must have swiped their paper from the driveway, or the delivery person accidentally missed their house and finally figured it out after they had one extra. All of this extra stuff isn't what the originator asked.

So, call circulation.

SIRE1 06-25-2023 03:22 PM

Yep. I agree. That is exactly what I would have done. And I've never know when our paper was ever late. Usually I can't believe how early they deliver.

Patty&Jeff 06-26-2023 04:57 AM

Our neighborhood get our papers until after 6pm. We had tried to call several times but was unable to get through. Not sure what happened... no papers at the boxes or the market.

Oh, the horror! I can only imagine the pain.

Nell57 06-26-2023 06:43 AM

WOW. So many unnecessary snide remarks.
The Daily Sun has a promotion going where a business is paying to give away a thousand free subscriptions for six months. Perhaps a friend or neighbor signed you up.
Unfortunately no one has been able to answer your original question.

stargirl 06-26-2023 06:46 AM

Ours was late also in Tall Trees.

You miss one paper and this what you do. Did you call the paper. Geezz. No one on this board can help someone like you. Self help is the answer, not complaining on a social board

All of Sunset Pointe was affected. Don’t know about others. Couldn’t get through to CS. I happen to like the paper. I can get caught up on trash online. Love my comics. Don’t like the Sun? Don’t subscribe.

Yep. And now, with my age I check the deaths and their ages. When I see anyone under 70 gone. Jeez, and so young….

Perspective changes as years slip by.

Tvflguy 06-26-2023 07:56 AM

Re The Sun delivery, could not be more pleased. I’d say over the past 365 days, twice I had to call for no paper. It then came within an hour or so. And if rain is expected they double bag.

We have a motion sensor camera out front, and I see the delivery anytime between 3 & 4:30am. Bless those folks….

What village are you in? I'm in the Cherry Vale Villas in Tall Trees and we got ours at 8pm on Saturday. Maybe it was a problem with the printing? I'll be they got many calls about it.

I don't even read the stupid thing it goes right in the garbage or sometimes I might use it to clean some glass. Mostly garbage as I hate cleaning windows.

I would call it an illegal solicitation.

There were 2 routes within The Villages on Saturday that were delayed. I read, but don’t recall the reason for the delay. According to the Daily Sun an advertiser paid for the free delivery to Villagers for 6 months. After the delivery began the addressee had to respond by calling the Daily Sun # to continue to receive the paper. It is for 6 months. It is the 2nd time in 3 years that this has happened. If YOU have more questions about the delay on Saturday or the free delivery … here’s an idea … call the Daily Sun.

BobnBev 06-26-2023 12:41 PM

I got mine @ 0630, instead of the usual 0230.

But, but wait, there are Sun bashers who haven’t checked in. And what about all those others who got their paper late. :1rotfl::1rotfl:
