Flower

I live in a flower. Many model houses are named after them here.

Taltarzac725 07-08-2023 05:02 PM

Except there are alligators in that lake. So, the bubble can be burst.

The fragile nature of bubble denotes the impermanence of the mortal world. Over exuberance of anything, such as wealth, happiness or good fortune, is also compared to a bubble because of its impermanence.

Velvet 07-09-2023 11:47 AM

I like being in the bubble! Not worried about the future, will worry when I have to.

Denying what exactly? I’m happy as a lark … even if the big, dark future is supposed to be approaching … lol

Raybe 07-09-2023 01:19 PM

I've always lived on the edge.

Sursavage 07-09-2023 01:23 PM

Just watched Sound of Freedom.
Amazing movie but heartbreaking. We definitely live in a bubble but maybe should get out now and then and help impact the world.

OP stated he believes we live in a bubble. My reply was nothing lasts forever. Not a jab! Eventually, maybe not in our time, the Villages will lose its luster and be nothing more than a dot on the map. Why do you think so many people are flocking to the Villages? Leaving their old bubble behind because it no longer brings them joy. Those bubbles have burst! And, so too, eventually will this one. Enjoy things while you can, everything is apt to change!

wereback 07-09-2023 03:17 PM

the bubble

Back in the year 2000 on my arrival we were in a totally different bubble which burst in about the year 2006 and a new bubble started a few years later which lasted until till 2014 The one the villages is in now started around 2019 and will last till the current villagers ruin it as all have done befor.

Anyways, our bubble is like soap bubbles, just when one bursts, another one comes along.

The Village bubble is already beginning to collapse. Just like all other areas will, as developers develop every square inch of unused land building more and more "new rental home neighborhoods" to convince clueless Millennials/Gen Z-ers that owning a home is too much trouble. Wildwood is changing so quickly that the roads alone show the compression the "bubble" must withstand.

The "over 55" in T V is eventually going to fade away. Its already happening. T V bubble is bursting now as ABnB businesses take over and T V does not regulate the now quick gaining "resort" vacation golf destination called "The Villages".

The LOVE of money is after all a root...

As the bubble expands it is bound to burst at some point. What do you think will change when that happens?

I always liked Bailey over Jennifer (Loni Anderson). Mary Ann over Ginger. What world would that be in.

I agree with this observation about TV. And I particularly like that the below quote is accurate, it is not; “Money is the root of all evil” it is, “The LOVE of money that is the root of all evil”. Money itself is just an arbitrary concept.

The world needs more Baileys……

If Bailey had known about Mr. Carlson’s plan for that Thanksgiving promo, she would have recognized its flaw and stopped it. But the Big Guy and Herb had kept it their big, dumb, secret surprise. (Sorry, I can’t help but laugh just thinking of that one, and Les Nessman’s reporting as it was happening.)

Yes, the Village’s is in a bubble of sorts, but a good one in my opinion despite having some flaws. Every time I’m in the bubble I don’t want to leave, and every time I leave the bubble I can’t wait to return. The more time I spend in the Villages, the more bored I get when I have to spend time in the real world.

Velvet 07-10-2023 03:15 PM

Ah, but to me, tophcfa, the real world is TV. The rest just needs to catch up…;)

Please explain that to my wife, the kids and grandkids reside very far outside the bubble and she would rather sacrifice weeks and months away from the bubble so as to not miss a friggin birthday or other family party that lasts for a few painful hours. Misguided priorities indeed, but it’s like talking to a doorknob to try to convince her otherwise : (
