Ptooey: Is this a pig-man?

At Walmart on 466 today a man was being served at the deli counter. While he waited he was eating cherries from a bag. After each cherry he SPIT THE PITS ON THE FLOOR. There were 4 or 5 there.

I don't want to presumptuous and call him a Pig- so I'll throw this out for opinions. Before you ask- YES- I'm sure he was Spitting them onto the floor.

Michael G. 08-06-2023 05:05 PM

I can't think of any description to comment for someone like this.

Kenswing 08-06-2023 05:37 PM

You can put lipstick on a pig, but ……. ……

He was probably my neighbor across the street who had brain surgery a few months back. When I see odd behavior I often wonder if it is done intentionally or because they don’t (any longer) know any better.

Did someone once say that you can put lipstick on a pig, and it's still a pig?

Byte1 08-07-2023 12:09 PM

I believe that is called "theft." Cherries are sold by the pound, right?

dnobles 08-07-2023 12:46 PM

Plus he hasn’t paid for them yet and he’ll be paying less than he should 🙃

Cleanup on Aisle 3, Cherry Pits on Floor. I see the 'someone else will clean it up' mentality a lot in TV, unfortunately. That's what they do in their own homes, Perhaps?

banjobob 08-08-2023 06:35 AM

And you didn’t say anything? I would. Have called him on it.

I think the same happens with memory loss…

I always think twice before approaching someone acting like this.
He might have two buddy's standing by, Smith and Wesson.

True. I'd be VERY careful. But there is a possibility that he "paid" nevertheless.

My wife always washes fresh produce as soon as we get it home, before storing it. a fifteen-minute soak in water w/baking soda followed by another soak (depending on how dirty the water was the first time), then rinse and spin-dry in a salad-spinner thing she has. You might think this is the definition of anal but I was amazed at the murky-grey color the water gets. This clown was A) eating cherries he hadn't paid for, B) or washed, C) at WAL-MART, where just the looks of some of the people pawing over the produce would give one pause.

I wonder how he felt the next morning.

The "Dirty Dozen" top 12 fruits and vegetables with the most pesticides:
Strawberries
Spinach
Kale, collard & mustard greens
Peaches
Pears
Nectarines
Apples
Grapes
Bell & hot peppers
Cherries
Blueberries
Green beans
More than 90 percent of samples of strawberries, apples, cherries, spinach, nectarines and grapes tested positive for residues of two or more pesticides...Eating without washing and he ingested?????

JeepsterGlenn 08-08-2023 10:46 AM

They’re known as Wal-martians. There are web sites devoted to Walmart customers!

Interesting to find blueberries on that list. They are perhaps the closest to wild of the fruits and vegetables we eat. They did far better up north. Here it is too hot and difficult to make and keep the soil acidic enough. Northern birds used to wait for the fruit to ripen here the birds eat them green.
Spray? I never needed to spray.

I do was all fruit. Including melons before cutting into them. Does it wash off all pesticides-probably not. People who pick the fruit. We do not want to know.

Lipstick on a pig. Wonder if he was reducing the weight of the bag before purchase

No. Probably I would point him out to a senior employee (maybe, just maybe, you might find an employee nowadays that would give a damn).
