Isn't "goof cat" kinda redundant?

Ok, I’ve got to ask, why do you need to know the weight? Asking for a friend….

Owners manual has vehicle weight.

Why ???

Mrmean58 08-08-2023 05:39 AM

The Yamaha Drive 2 ptv factory weight is 751 pounds dry. So depending on what options installed plus 6 gallons of fuel, add another 50-80 pounds.

pickup

putting it in a pickup?

banjobob 08-08-2023 06:27 AM

You would need to haul it to a truck stop pay to have the cart and truck ,weighed on their scales remove the cart pay to weigh the truck again . Or just read the owners manual and guess weight of add ons

ChilePepper 08-08-2023 07:10 AM

Still, no reason is stated here. Why do you need to know the weight?

Won't be "Certified", but 4 of these, one for each tire will do the trick.

A bathroom scale capable of reading weight up to 600lbs placed under each wheel one at a time will get you very close.

This will work if you block each of the tires to the same height

Ohiobuckeye

Why, it isn’t a law to get it weighed?

If we decide to get it registered, a certified weight is one of the DMV requirements.

When we weigh airplanes (where weight and center of gravity is critical), it's done with scales under each wheel. (I've only owned small planes, I have no clue how they weight 747's.)

In the case of using only 1 scale, it seems like Archimedes Principal of Levers would apply. Which I *think* means, ever single wheel would have to be EXACTLY as far of the ground, as the one with the scale under it.

For the engineers in the group, am I missing something?

Only Street Legal golf carts need to be registered….

Why do you feel the need to have your "goof cat" with you 24/7? :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

If you decide to get it registered, you’ll need a whole lot more than just the weight to make it street legal ……
