Water practice range

How do the get the practice balls off of the island greens and the water at Sarasota range?

JMintzer 08-11-2023 03:16 PM

The balls float. The wind will push them to shore.

The ones on the green? I dunno'... Maybe a rowboat and a rake?

Golfer222 08-14-2023 05:56 AM

That what I figured about the floaters in the water- just wasn't sure about the ones on the island greens

Does anyone know where you buy floating golf balls around here?

When I think of all the money I could have saved over the years!

I was told by my neighbor’s landscaper’s cousin, that they train alligators to clear the islands, and retrieve the balls.

MrFlorida 08-14-2023 07:58 AM

Floating balls don't go as far...

Golfer222 08-14-2023 07:59 AM

lol

Bilyclub 08-14-2023 08:00 AM

That green can only hold so many balls. I'm sure a lot get knocked of into the water and float away.

Where do we get one who will bring me back the balls?

You have to pay "The Alligator Whisperer" to train them. Don't you have one on retainer in the Village of Stu????:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Seriously, I believe those islands are on chains and get pulled to shore----I've seen the big one parked at shore a few times.

Can they capsize? You know, like Guam?

We used to but the gator decided he wanted meat and no golf balls for his dinner so he ate the whisperer.

Want to apply for the position?

Maybe next year :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Besides, I'm more of a yeller than a whisperer.

Are the floating greens not tilted so the balls roll off?

I would guess the obvious answer is either no, or not enough, since there are hundreds of balls on that floating green

Who's worried? It was a simple (and perfectly logical) question...

If they were that would be the topic of a weekly complaint thread here.
