Favorite Gary Larson Cartoon?

This man brought a smile to my face so often I should sue him for causing my wrinkles.

Ooops.

My favorite cartoonist!

The one I like the best is with the kid trying to open the door of the School for the Gifted. He is pulling, but the door says, “Push.” I can’t find it now, but I think I have seen it on a coffee mug.

I also like the one where the puppy is being lectured by his parents for being rude to their guests when he refused to sniff butts.

Thanks. I had the push/pull part backwards in my memory. Love that one — so true. :)

You caught me. The shoe fits perfectly. There are tales that are told. I just laugh.

Man was a genius

I love his humor! I used to have the monthly paper pad that you ripped off one day at a time to reveal the next joke. Nice to discover the online version. Thanks!

You are welcome.

I often would got the same thing for Christmas from a family member.

Two favorites:

Pair of spiders with a web across the bottom of a slide.
The one says "If this works we'll eat like kings".

Another one shows flys driving a minivan with the placard, "Maggots On Board"

I first was a B Kliban fan and later a Larson fan. Both have very similar twisted humor, like mine.

Today on Kliban - Comics by B. Kliban - GoComics

The one I remember most has the caption something like "veterinary students usually breeze through the horse section". In the cartoon it shows a student sitting at a desk with a textbook open and on one side of the page it has symptoms and the other side treatment. Every treatment says "Shoot".

Me too, I had one of those tear-away calendar pads at my work desk back in the 90's. Love Larson. :read:

So many to choose from, but when I think of his work, this is always the first one to come to mind

Boomer 08-15-2023 10:43 AM

The 2024 Far Side daily calendar is now available. (It’s a revised edition of the 1996 calendar.) The 2023 is still out there, too. (Revised version of 1995.)

. . .A much less expensive way to get a Far Side fix than buying all those books — again. I am thinking about ordering because a hardcopy quick fix on my desk could deter me from going down that online rabbit hole.

For those of us with a certain bent to our sense of humor, nobody gets us better than Gary Larson.

not sure how to add an image, hope this works. But my favorite Far Side was Aice Cramden being found dead on the moon.

There is a similar one to this about 2 golfers getting ready to putt. In the background is a mushroom cloud. One says to the other, "go ahead and putt the shock wave won't get here for about 5 minutes".
