Dentist Recommendations
 

I would appreciate recommendations for a good dentist that does not want to sell you on having cosmetic dental work done. I have been to two dentist that made recommendations for $15,000 and $12,000 respectively worth the work. My Delta Dental plan wound not approve the their plans. It was unnecessary. I have no gum disease or other dental problems. What need is routine exams, bit wing x-rays, cleanings and if need restorative work. Your recommendations are appreciated.

We have been going to Baylee Dental (Baylee plaza just south of route 42 on route 441), they do not accept any insurance, but provide documentation for you to send to your insurance carrier, and they do not upsell. Very happy with the practice for around 8 years.

Good old fashion type dentist ,(exam fill cavity ,cleaning etc. ) I am still looking, tried 3 different offices none would just do the basic work I requested without signing up for every three month appointments or deep cleanings or crowns etc etc

I know it's a an hour away but if you're only going for routine work, I recommend McGee Family Dentistry in Orlando. Great service, no trying to sell you something you don't need. I make a trip to Cosco (15 minutes from there), go to Mall of Millinia and all those stores just across the street and have lunch at either Cheesecake Factory (if I've had a good exam), Brio or Chick Fil A. Easy on to I-4 and then the turnpike.

We’ve been very happy with Southern Trace Dental. When we moved here neighbors recommended them for just the reason you mentioned.

Good luck. Some lunatic dentist in Lady Lake tried to convince me to get two perfectly functional 50 and 35 year old fillings drilled out to replace them with modern materials.

I've been through several bad dentists in TV. I've been with Lifetime Dentistry of Lady Lake for 2 years and have been very pleased with Dr. Malik Altoos. No upsell pressure and great work on fillings and a crown as well as good cleanings. Don't let his youthful appearance deter you. Dr. Lesh at Southern Trace Dental is the best!

Tradewinds Dental is very good and doesn’t force teeth cleanings. They also take Delta Dental. Close to Lowes.

My personal experience has been excellent with Dr. Morcos and his team.

Lifetime Dentistry on 441 is very good. They take all types of insurance too.

Lucky find dentist will do fillings. Most won’t even consider fillings and want to cut down and cap or implant.

VIP Dentistry. I have been going to Dr. Angela Emmrick for seven years and she is great with a wonderful staff.

Hi,I have used VIP Dentistry for years. They usually run a $99 new patient exam and cleaning. I started with that. I have veneers, no one tried to “fix” them, and because I don’t have cavities, my bill has been about $125/6 months. This time I had X-rays, and fluoride withe the exam and cleaning costing $220. Very reasonable and nice professionals. Dr. Emrick is very attentive and will discuss any issues you have.

What place? You didn’t quote anyone.

I have been very happy with Village Smiles. I believe he also has an office in Lake Deaton Plaza.

(Avoid Wildwood Dentist which is near Sparr off of 44. They tried all sorts of things to get you to buy extra services.)

Got me right in when a crown split. Called stub 7:00 AM she said to come right in and got me to the periodontist that afternoon.

. Several posts mention offices that “take insurance “. I’m sure that you all mean that the office participates with your insurance. So this means that the office accepts what the insurance company pays as payment in full. Dental insurance companies have not kept up with modern dentistry, the improved techniques, materials & technology. They are still paying the Dentist the equivalent of Stone Age dental care. Please keep in mind that there is a staff to pay & you know you get what you pay for. Experience , proper sterilization, education, materials that have not expired, staff that is trained to handle a medical emergency should one arise while a patient is in the office. Be wary of offices that participate (accept a lower fee), ask where they have cut costs to allow for this reduced amount of income. Again, remember that they have staff to pay. Is their staff struggling because of low pay? Best way to find a great office is to ask your friends & neighbors & check Google reviews. Best wishes in your search.

You can go to most any dentist, but what you have to do is stand up for yourself. Tell the dentist you can not afford that type of work and request the basic cleaning. Stick to what you want and you will get it! I went to a dentist to get my teeth cleaned and they check my teeth and said I needed a deep cleaning and the cost would be $800. I told them I could not afford that and would not accept that type of cleaning. The price came down to $400 and I said nope, still too much. When I walked out of the dentist office with my first set of x-rays and a complete teeth cleaning I ended up paying a total of $98. Stand your ground and you will be fine. If they refuse go to another dentist.

We had the same problem with Village Dental. They even used the scare tactic of you have a new problem. Now going to Marion Dental. Honest care and no selling or drama. Been there two years now and amazing. As they say "the sky is not falling" ever. On every visit. It is terrible to see those that fell for it n at the front desk and hear it will be 3 thousand to complete the procedure. Have faith. Hood luck.

$98., you are getting what you paid for, very little. Ask yourself if you could pay rent, utilities, insurance, salaries, supplies and make a small profit for $98. for the hour. Too funny, people here pay more for their dog’s teeth cleanings.
