We have an infestation of teeny/tiny bugs (maybe ants??) We don't know what gets rid of them. They're smaller than ants but the way they scurry reminds me of ants. They're around and in the kitchen sink plus a bathroom sink as well. I poured vinegar down one drain to see if it would work. Maybe bleach next???

Sugar ants? Ghost ants?
Advion Bait.

Glorantha 09-30-2023 03:48 PM

We also called them p**s ants because of their tiny size.

Hoosierb4 09-30-2023 04:17 PM

Terro works well on the tiny "ghost" ants.

Ace hardware is your friend for household pests. They know what you need and will have it in their store. Closed on Sunday's though.

We had an infestation in the spring of tiny reddish ants. Appeared to come from under the wax ring beneath the toilet bowl in the main bath. Thought they came from under the slab but never could spot them outside. Terro didn't phase them. Plain old Zevo and Raid for ants and roaches sprayed daily without fail and then Home Defense finally did the job.

We even had them in the dishwasher, hot water didn't kill them. Sprayed Home Defense in the DW and ran it thru a cycle. They never came back.:pepper2:

All good suggestions with commercial products

Use the commercial products listed but also try full strength white vinegar. Give any mass or entry locations a good vinegar bath. Let it sit. Clean maybe repeat.

Diatomaceous earth works well. It dehydrates them. They don’t like it.

banjobob 10-01-2023 04:54 AM

Ghost ants ,bait areas you see them with”Terro” buy at Ace , Lowe's, ,Home Depot. Probably need to bait repeatedly

sowilts 10-01-2023 05:26 AM

Florida Pest treats our property and they are very good and not that costly. When we see inside ants they come out, put a couple drops of something in the correct places, and the pests are gone in a day or so. Boom, done, professionals know their stuff.

limegreensaab 10-01-2023 06:18 AM

Terro

My husband used to put mouthwash in the water pick. One day we noticed tiny sugar ants, a lot of them they seemed to come all at once. Looked up natural ways to get rid of sugar ants. It was cinnamon sticks and cloves. I put them in the corners of the drawer of the top of the sink, and it worked. I was amazed at how at and how they all seemed to come at once and leave at once and never spread to other parts of the house. Aren’t pests amazing.

Terro, they take it back to the nest and kill all their buddies.

I've had something called "ghost ants". They are very tiny. Your pest control company should be able to get rid of them.

Caulk around the perimeter of the toilet base. Pull the sconces around pipes from the walls and push steel wool into the openings, or seal them with expanding foam sealant. Put the sconces back for appearance.

On AMAZON ….TERRO …Liquid Ant Baits (12 Bait Stations).
Give it a few days and it works great.

Deden 10-02-2023 12:36 AM

Baking soda or Boric acid you can buy from drug stores, sprinkle on dry. Also, for ants Grits in container
they will take to queen, they drink water and blowup.
