Best Buy, Lowes, Home Depot, Appliance Direct or MVB Appliances in Fruitland Park. For brands I would avoid Frigidaire or Samsung (personal experience) like the plague.

I don't know about the refrigerator but the only washer I would consider is Speed Queen. We got ours at DeSantis Appliance.

Best Buy.
Get the cheapest, and don't buy extended warranty.
If white goods last the first year warranty, they stick around for years.
After years buying top of the range, we realized cheap, in nearly all cases of white goods, is just as good.
JMO.

Lowes! :)

Best Buy or Lowes

Dusty_Star 10-25-2023 09:00 AM

I am planning on avoiding Home Depot for major appliance purchases. I bought a washer & dryer last year & the delivery & set up team left me we a non-working washer & dryer. They left the exhaust hose unconnected & they left the electricity unconnected (neither were as simple as plug & go). As they left they had the audacity to ask me to leave them a good review. I had to hire an independant handyman to make the connections.

Babubhat 10-25-2023 09:32 AM

Costco having a special sale today. Can buy online

Both big box stores gave me unacceptable installation services. Never again. Now use Costco when possible

Papa_lecki 10-25-2023 09:42 AM

We had a great experience with lowes, a new stove and refrigerator. Installation was great.
You can schedule and re schedule on line.

villagetinker 10-25-2023 12:45 PM

We got some form appliances direct (441), not sure if they handle installation, ours were simple and I handled it. Also, as I recall they take away the old ones.

I agree with Appliance Direct. I got a "scratch and dent" fridge (just covered the 2 dings with magnets). It was a great deal, they set it up and took the old one to my laundry room and hooked it up.

2newyorkers 10-25-2023 02:26 PM

We used Southeast Steel in Orlando.

cassonm13@gmail.com 10-25-2023 06:46 PM

Southeast Steel in Orlando.
No pressure, and their prices are as good or better than anyone else!

Stu from NYC 10-25-2023 07:32 PM

I would use a company that handles it own installations

Blackbird45 10-26-2023 04:39 AM

I love Lowe's they are only 5 minutes away from me and their prices are decent. But I have had issues with their service department. I had an oven put in where they said my cabinet need more support to carry the load and after weeks of being shifted from one department to another, I did the work myself. I bought a set of garden lights and one of the parts need to be replaced, I've been trying to get the part, but they keep telling me the manufacture never returns their calls. Instead of digging up the wire I bought another set of lights. Maybe Lowe's should not carry this company's product if they will not address their issues.

rsmurano 10-26-2023 05:04 AM

We’ve been replacing our new cheaper TV appliances with top of the line appliances from Lowe’s. All Samsung with no issues. I use the Lowe’s card to get an extra 5% off plus you get free delivery and setup. All the new appliances are smart WiFi pieces that I can control with my iPhone

bowlingal 10-26-2023 05:16 AM

Bay Kid....go to Appliance Direct in Fruitland Park on 441

MikeN 10-26-2023 05:58 AM

Appliances

Home Depot here is the only place I have had experience with. They delivered and installed on time. The one service issue was handled quickly and on the first visit

You didn't mention what brand you wanted. Research the quality, ice makers, & the water, (in the door or inside options.) Then go to the stores that specialize in that brand. My appliance repair person says he repairs more LG refrig. than other brands. They are the cheapest brand & always on sale.

They did install ours. We liked them. Purchased our washer & dryer from them about 5 years ago.

Go to Lowes (both) look at the 'return stack' then look at the back of the tag. they are required to discount X% every month it sits there. you can get a total steal of a deal. 2 years ago I got a 2400 fridge never used for 400.

sdeikenberry 10-26-2023 07:16 AM

Best Buy will price match, and they have excellent installation people. Plus, if you are a Total Tech member, as I am, you get perks and warranty coverage beyond normal...its a good deal.

HawkinsGuy 10-26-2023 07:41 AM

Try ABT. Very fast delivery and great customer service. Very good prices with many items free shipping. Abt: Appliances and Electronics Store | Refrigerators, Appliances, TVs

Alarmed 10-26-2023 07:43 AM

Home Depot has the best prices on appliances.

We have bought all of our appliances there. Tried to buy a new washer there last month and delivery was cancelled twice. Canceled and ordered the same washer from Best Buy for $120.00 more but was delivered in two days. If you're not in a hurry Home Depot has the best deals.

Vicxyz 10-26-2023 07:50 AM

Best Buy for sure. If you become a member, you can return an appliance for any reason within 60 days. You can also get a refund if any store has it for cheaper within those 60 days. We exchanged our range and got a $600 refund by price checking.

APPLIANCE DIRECT !!!!

Usually same day purchase/installation. I bought a refrigerator from them, and surprisingly, they delivered it and installed it (including hooking up the ice maker) the same day. Got the same deal a few months later when I purchased a dishwasher from them. Also, they had absolutely the best price. Appliance Direct will always be my first stop when making a purchase. I saved an amazing amount of money compared to the prices at other local stores.

Lowes

If you use Lowes for a refrigerator be sure you have a stainless steel valve in the wall behind your current fridge. If you have a plastic one Lowes won't install your new fridge until you have a plumber put in stainless steel valve. My house in Bonnybrook, built in 2004 had a plastic one. Lowes doesn't warn you ahead of time.

Totally agree. We purchased all new appliances a year ago from Best Buy and received what we felt was exceptional service, from choosing the appliances, themselves, to installation and setting them all up on our wireless network. We chose LG and went a little more top of the line. We use Best Buy for appliance purchases and would not go anywhere else for new phones or iPads. We are also Total Tech members and just renewed for another year.

Deden 10-26-2023 10:17 AM

Lowes and Home Depot, 10% military discount. I choose Lowes.

Bness 10-26-2023 02:44 PM

How soon do you need them

Home Depot doesn't stock all the appliances in their stores. If you need it delivered or want to pick it up immediately, Lowes is a better choice.
Just remember, the more bells and whistles, the more there is to go wrong. Also ice makers take up a lot of space if in door dispensing is important, check the different capacities of side by sides, French door and freezer over refer.
Good luck, they don't make them like my grand dads Kelvinator, anymore.

Velvet 10-26-2023 02:51 PM

I like Costco - they double the warranty. In TV I use GE appliances, they work like a tank in the battlefield. Up north I use Miele, they need pampering. Samsung appliances tend to be pretty but treat them as strictly disposable. No worthwhile service.

gtraupman 10-27-2023 08:27 AM

I agree with one of the previous posters -- DO NOT buy Samsung. Poor quality, poor customer service, difficult to find someone to service them.

We purchased an LG Monday night at Lowe’s,, delivered Wednesday at noon. Best delivery crew ever. Took out our non functioning unit ($50). We looked at Home Depot, but their delivery time was many days later. Our 10 yr old frig quit cooling, We needed one soonest. Lowe’s warehouse is closer.

New Washer & Dryer

Call Setzer’s in Gainesville. We bought all our appliances from them. Knowledgeable staff who will not steer you wrong. They have a location in Ocala as well, though a much smaller showroom. If delivery, installation and service after the sale are important to you, do NOT buy appliances from a big box store. The only exception to this would be Costco.

Babubhat 10-27-2023 12:24 PM

Big Costco appliances sale now. No need to visit store

dpdale 10-27-2023 01:06 PM

There is a Best Buy outlet in Ocoee. We got some good deals on appliances, but make sure all the installation parts were with the one you pick out. I would also recommend buying the 2 year warranty plan. Not sure what it’s called, but it includes free delivery and take away.

gmnirr 10-30-2023 10:16 AM

I have a Samsung stainless 36 wide refrigerator with new, came with house just bought

It has French drawers up top and a freezer drawer at the bottom. it’s fairly new. It came with the house that we just bought in August. Willing to let it go for a great price.
