What is your favorite executive course to walk, and why?

Chula Vista. Every hole seems to have it's own unique personality and challenges. Not a difficult course but always fun--and scenic.

Sandhill not too bad. All these have long walks from green to tee: Red Fox, Gray Fox (real bad), Longleaf, Loblolly (real bad), Lowlands (real bad), Escambia, Okeechobee, Turtle Mound...it's not that they are hilly, just the long walks to the next tee on several holes slows down play. MickyLee and Marsh View are good for pitch-n-putts.

Mira Mesa the best IMHO

We used to enjoy Briarwood, and Walnut Grove. Comfortable walks.
Some courses have a bit of a gallop between holes, but not a problem if reasonably fit.

Pretty much all of them. Easy walk.

May I assume you mean playing golf and walking as opposed to those who trespass on the courses to walk/walk their dog/ride their bikes, etc?

having played golf overseas for 20 years, I am astounded by the number of villages golfers who will not or cannot walk executive golf courses. Is it any wonder 70% of Floridians are overweight

If you want a workout Hilltop in Orange Blossom made me feel very worthy of a beer afterwards!

The question was what and why favorite courses to walk.

And I asked for clarification----walking while playing a round of golf or trespassing to walk, walk a dog, ride a bike, etc. So, yes, that was the question.

The more players that walk the slower the pace will get. Most Villagers are very active.

Hawkes Bay has beautiful views, holes containing a variety of yardages and it is very well laid out for those who walk the course since the greens and next tees are never too far apart.

Wife and I always walked, and more than kept up with play, including I may add, during our Championship Course playing days as well.
What held us up on Execs. was many ladies sitting in cart waiting to be driven to green tee from black, after her macho husband played his shot, which in 90% of cases never reached the green anyway!

Slightly different question - good executive course to walk that is not too hilly (protecting my sore knee) and not far from green to next tee

Turtle Mound is very easy.

& not an unreasonable request for clarification as the initial question was not clear & responding would be operating under assumptions.

I love walking grey fox, it gives me time to take in all the nature scenes.

OP here, I meant walking while playing, I wouldn’t even think about walking on a golf course.
I was pretty much looking for efficiency, believe me my game is slow enough with all the strokes I take.

Based on my experience, more than 95% of players use carts. Very few walk!

Well you won't be walking the course if you're riding your bike. So you can rule that out.

As for the rest, what does it have anything to do with the question? Is the process of walking different, when you're walking your dog, compared to walking without one? If you're walking while playing, then sure you have to stop every so often to hit the ball but the walking part of it doesn't change. You're still walking.

The OP wants to know which course is your favorite to walk. If the only time you ever walk it is to play golf, then - which is your favorite to walk? If you walk it to walk your dog, then which is your favorite to walk? If it's to take a stroll in the evening after the course ceases to issue tee times, which is your favorite to walk? If you walk it to stare at people getting dressed through their bedroom windows, which is your favorite to walk?

The difference is that when you walk your dog or go for a stroll and not play golf, YOU ARE TRESPASSING Even the OP stated he wouldn't even think of walking on a course unless he was playing.

I second the vote for Mira Mesa as the most enjoyable walking course. Stately oaks line most of the fairways, offering shaded comfort. The course winds around the beautiful Village of La Reynalda and is a relatively easy walking course-no real hills, and good adjacency from greens to next tee.

Heron, Pelican, Amberwood (all with incredible views of wildlife areas) and lastly Churchill Greens for that long walk between holes 5 and 6 with the pond on the left and the horses and cattle in the fields below you to the right just as a train passes in the distance at sunset.

As already mentioned,
Churchill Greens, Gray Fox, Loblolly and Lowlands have long walks from one of their greens to the next tee. It's not the walk I mind, it's the time it takes which can screw up the foursome play timing.

I walk about 50% of the time and have not seen any difference in playing time. The usual hold up is someone on the green who takes 5 minutes to line up their putt. Given that they miss most of the time, I haven’t seen anyone who might play on the senior tour.

Next tee box distances.
 

Looking to walk the exec courses and am wondering which courses have the next tee box close to the last putting green? For example Loblolly, IMHO, is unwalkable due to one next tee box being a country mile away from the last green.
Most walkers, hop a ride with me, to that next tee box.

There are several with a long walk between holes. I try to leave the green asap to get a jump to the next tee. I'm usually the last to tee on this hole.
