Car on Golf Course Cart Path

This didn't happen in The Villages, but a person drove onto the course paths with a car.
Maybe it was a shortcut to avoid slow drivers.

Actually, I have seen cars on the golf cart paths in the 10 years we have lived here.

I had to stop a car that turned onto the path at Lake Deaton preparing to go into the bridge over rt44.

Lat year I encountered a pick up truck mid span on that bridge, interestingly he was headed north. Wonder how he got onto the bridge in the first place. I've also encountered a SUV coming out of the tunnel near Liberty Park on the BV MMP. Like Judge Judy says, "you can't fix stupid".

You missed it. Happened on 9/4/2021. Story is on the news site that shall not be named.

I am still trying to figure out how she got to the turnpike.

Been there, done that…

Carol Lynn Crispino, 64, who lives at 760 Kauska Way in the Fruitland Park section of The Villages, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday in the case in Sumter County Court. Her written plea was entered by her attorney, Bradley Bonifacino.

Crispino was driving a brown 2021 Yamaha golf cart at 8:15 p.m. Sept. 4 when a Road Ranger spotted her traveling south on the turnpike near Exit 304. The New York native was directed to the Okahumpka Service Plaza where she admitted to a trooper from the Florida Highway Patrol that she had “about three drinks with dinner at Brownwood Square in The Villages,” the report said. She provided breath samples that registered .150 and .157 blood alcohol content.

She has already paid a $166 ticket charging her with improper operation of a golf cart on a roadway.

There's an Eastbound turnpike on-ramp that's about a 3 minute cart ride from the entrance to the Village of DeLuna. Lots of room on the shoulder of 301 to drive a cart from there to the on-ramp.

I saw the opposite 2 days ago. A golf cart turned onto hwy 441!!!!! I know some golf carts are street legal, but surely not for a 45 MPH HWY. I wonder how far they went....

Not a golf course story but... There's a guy that rides a "crotch rocket" motorcycle to take Marsh Bend Trail coming from 301 in DeLuna over the cart mvp bridge over the Turnpike to get to Meggison Rd. Broad daylight, I'll give that, he's resourceful!

I’ve noticed in the past few weeks with new arrivals the trend of using the exit of neighborhoods to take the roundabout to cut across Bueno Vista to get to the neighborhoods across the street…..Accidents waiting to happen

GoneFishing 12-09-2023 10:23 AM

We saw a woman in a big SUV turn on the cart path at the light near Colony Cottage. She finally stopped at the tunnel when she realized her car wouldn’t fit.

Car on multi-modal paths

I’ve seen this phenomenon four or fives times in TV. Fortunately, no accident occurred from the mistake.

That has already happened...more than once!!! Also saw one with a couple of young ladies in it going down El Camino Real not too long ago. I guess grandpa didn't give instructions that were specific enough before he turned them loose in the golf cart.

First time I visited, I mistakenly ended up, in my Father in Laws golf cart, on a course in a location I was not meant to be (i assume). eight senior citizens (I was 37 at the time) screamed every foul word insult they could think of. I did not leave thinking "America's friendliest home town.".

Better a screaming geezer than a polite cop.

I ended up smiling as the foul language continued. My seven year old daughter was frightened (she was in the cart with me), but we were fine. It made for a good teaching moment. You never know what challenges or problems other people are dealing with. Life can be very hard, try to make it a bit easier by not reacting meanly to others. Be polite and drive away.
