Looking for a dentist who does root canals and reasonably priced. Text 407-921-6612.

I doubt you will find one, it appears the dentists will refer you to an oral surgeon, had this happen twice to me. It has been a few years since I but I think the cost was around $1000, we have no dental coverage.

More likely, they referred you to an endodontist. That is a dental specialist in root canals, and other treatments of pathology originating in the pulp of the tooth.

Most regular dentists don't do root canals. They will refer you to a specialist. Then, usually, you will need to return to the dentist to get a crown to protect the tooth. So, you can expect to spend more than $2,000. I use Dr. Chris Lunsford in Leesburg, who is very reasonable, and he will do the crown after referring you for the root canal.

My wife need 2 last year and we have a FEDVIP coverage plan. Still had out of pocket costs of over $5K for the two of them and did not cure pain she was having in jaw which was original problem. Referred to UF/Shands and determined she had clogged saliva glands and needed a surgical procedure. BTW, Shands Dental School accepts patients and have some discounted prices, but 75 miles to Gainesville.

DR LUNSFORD IS AN HONEST DENTIST. I have been exposed to 2 'dentists' around The Village area: the 1st wanted $2800, the 2nd $6800 and Dr Lunsford $426. They were ALL looking at the same x-rays. Those around and close to The Villages know they are dealing with seniors who have money, and they are unethical outright crooks!

My husband saved $900 going thru UF Dental School in Gainesville. The dentist did a great job. Their students are dentists going thru endodontist training. He’s going back now for the crown, cleaning, and exam. Worth the 60 mile trip.

Definitely the best! Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Try Marion Dental Group (several offices; the one we use is about two blocks from Spanish Plaines on 441). We use Dr. Vitaly but I understand all dentists there (7, total) are good. HUGE point in their favor is that they won't try to upsell you. Twice now I've had broken teeth that I thought were prime candidates for crowns (even with insurance, still expensive), and in both cases my dentist there at the time (Dr. Ha for the first one, Dr. Vitaly for the second) said that they could fix the tooth w/o a crown, and did.

I was referred out for an extraction I needed: to a Dr. Trevisani here in TV. My concern was that a dentist some years back had broken off a tooth when trying to extract it, that consequently took over an hour to dig out the rest of the root. Dr. Trevisani had it out in two seconds.

My general impression of medical care here in TV is that it is pretty cruddy, the exception being dentistry.

We have used Dr. LeCorn, Cala Endodontics, more than once, over the 10+ years of relationship. They are excellent. They have an office on 466, just east of Morse Blvd. They have a couple of other offices. Dr. Mauricia Brown works there too. She is very good also. The restoration (crown) should be done by your General Dentist. This is the typical process-- as each Dentist respects the bi-directional referral process. He is part of the Marion Dental Group on 441. Establishing a relationship with a Group is important-- in case you need help vs. only one Dentist who may be unavailable for an assortment of reasons. I have used Dr. Trevisani twice. He is excellent. He is very fast. Dr. Trevisani is an Oral Surgeon. I used him for tooth extraction and implants. His office is located near Sam's Club.

I have seen three different dentists in The Villages ,all wanted “Deep cleaning”with routine quarterly follow ups , stilling looking for dentist to just clean, check for cavities , suggest normal dental procedures.

Many general dentists will do root canals on anterior teeth. Simple, straight roots that are easy to do. Molar roots are generally curved and more complex, and these are mostly done by endodontists.

Concur with that. "Fast" is sort of an understatement though...Dr. Trevisani and all the people in his office remind me of a 33 1/3 record played at 78 (shouldn't have to explain that one to most of the folks here...)

Just a suggestion! Don’t go by cheapness, that’s a big mistake. Ask what dentist that has a good representation!. Cheap, you might get exactly that cheap barn yard work!

I have been very satisfied wit Tradewinds Dental Care on Seven Mike Drive In Wildwood ( still in TV) I have not have any root canals, done, They are I believe a new dental practice, I have had 2 filings re-done a year later at absolutely zero cost, This illustrates to me they stand behind their work & are not out to extract as much money they can from you , I have tried 2 other dental practices previously was not satisfied,

Starting in the mid-90's, up north, I began to get implants. I'd first (years before that) had root canals. I would never-ever go to a different country to have the work done. Reason being---"IF" you had problems and had an emergency here, no dentist would care to treat you. Yes, these procedures are expensive but being safe is another factor. We didn't have insurance neither---don't think most will cover it anyway.
I had implants done here about 13-14 years ago. Dr. Caylor did them. The dentist I had is no longer in T.V. For root canals, I agree with another that an endodontist should do them. There's a practice that's very good on 103, across from Trinity Springs. They may even do implants there as well.

No such thing as reasonably priced. Most dentist aren't interested in root canals anymore and only want to push implants onto you. It used to be fillings, then root canals and now implants.
