Seat extension?
Hi everyone, I"m looking for ideas to somehow adjust the seat or extend it somehow on a 2019 yamaha. My girlfriend is a small girl and has a hard time with reaching the gas/brake pedals comfortably.
Any ideas would be appreciated! |

My wife and MIL both use a small pillow.

I third the pillow/cushion idea. If the first ones you try don't work out, try some other sizes shapes, one might be exactly what you need.

I have seen adjustable seats BUT these seem to be mounted HIGHER which would probably defeat what you need. You could try going to some of the local golf cart stores and see what they might have to offer, or possibly look online, but you will not be able to test fits these.
I should have added the ones I have seen that slide forward are on tracks that cause the seats to be higher, and in some cases this restricts access to the engine area. This makes battery maintenance interesting, as well as refueling. |
I have the same problem. I'm only 5'2" and noticed my first year here, that I was having horrible hip problems that got worse after a golf cart drive.
I still have hip problems but no longer have the pain after a ride in the cart. My solution: a $30 lumbar support pillow from Staples. Access Denied Pretty sure you can get similar on Amazon for less, but Staples usually has those in the store if you want to check them out. They're on the end-cap in the far rear corner of the store, near the floor mats. |
I purchased a foot pedal extension. It works awesome! I bought it from a guy who makes them from wood. It’s not permanent and can be taken off and on if needed.
Sorry I couldn’t find his number. As I bought it in 2016. Ask at the original wood shop. I think that’s where he made them. |
Ask the grandkids driving Paw Paw and Maw Maw carts what they use !

Try lumbar office chair support pillow $19 and pop off pedal extender sold at golf car store.$50.
Amazon.com |
When I bought my Cart from The Villages Golf Carts, they included a black plastic pedal extension, which will snap off when my boyfriend drives the cart. Maybe they sell them? Works like a charm!

Trade the girlfriend in on one with longer legs.

I got the pedal extender for myself at the golf store in Brownwood. Easy to put on and take off for you. Works great. My cushion would fall out occasionally.

Pedal extension, back "pillows" or replace your seat(s) with an adjustable seat.
Few dollars to thousands of dollars. |
I bought a back cushion and a pedal extender at the Village’s golf cart store in Lake Sumter for my mom to use. My mom is 4’10”. The back cushion has Velcro straps so it stays in place while driving. The pedal extender snaps on to the pedal and is easily removable if needed. I probably could have bought these cheaper but I liked what I saw.

Find the latest phone book that was delivered to your driveway. Works perfectly with duct tape wrapped around the right foot of your wife. Please remember to take if off before she goes dancing in the square.

So if you're driving along, your foot on the gas, and have to brake, it's very awkward to lift your foot from the gas pedal and then over AND down to reach the brake pedal. It's harder for your leg to shift like that. If you move your body forward on the seat (with a cushion behind you) then both pedals will be in line with each other, and no adjusting needed from your leg/foot every single time you need to step on the brake. With the cushion, my heel is usually on the floor of the cart, and the rest of my foot just turns a little to the right for the gas, a little to the left for the brake. Without the cushion, and the pedal block on the gas, I have to lift my entire leg up just to get from the brake to the gas, and stretch my leg and my entire body just to reach the brake pedal. The whole point of needing anything at all, is to avoid having to sit in an awkward position to drive. They forget the brake pedal is needed for driving as well. |

Longer screws and washers for the back of the seat to move it forward. Also take some flip flops, remove the straps and mount to the pedal. Use as many as needed. Soft and good grip.

pillow
