Jacuzzi or hot tub in TV
 

Is there a facility in TV that has such a facility? Very beneficial for old bone/joints.

A couple of the country club pools have them. Hang on, I'll look it up for you. I know the one that was demolished, did. So that one is gone, Hacienda Hills I think, but a couple are left.

Okay, this these country clubs are those I think have a hot tub. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

:) Southside pool on the old side is part of your amenities and is open til 11p.m.

The Country Club pools and hot tubs are an enhancesment and you pay to use them. Membership is 1 month, 6 months, or a year. For a single or couple here is a link:

Southside Pool in Silverlake on the historic side. It's not very big. That's a neighborhood pool open to anyone (except children)

I had paid to get access to Orange Blossom jacuzzi and when I got there, only one jet was working with a man on it who never budged for 20 minutes and the water looked disgusting. So I cancelled my membership. Southside has also been full of scuzzy crap on top in the past. I see men scrubbing their arm pits in there. GROSSSSSSS! Good luck finding a decent soak for yourself. Might want to get your own.

Public jacuzzi's are a total NO.

IF you want the upkeep and feel they're so beneficial, my suggestion is purchase one for your home. Be sure to get ARC permission though. Another option would be a walk-in bathtub as many of those have jets as well. I'd forgo the idea of the public hot tubs as others have mentioned.

Go buy your own hot tub. You can get 1 of the best hot tubs that run off 115v or 240volt, very easy to maintain (so you don’t have hundreds of others in your tub), and doesn’t cost much to run.
I use ours multiple times a day 365 days a year.
Dealers in Orlando will get you a better deal than the hot tub dealers close by. Direct message me and I’ll tell you what we bought, what dealers we looked at, and where a couple of us bought our hot tubs from, we saved over $3000 compared to local dealers

We have had spas for years before moving to the Villages. Our son put in a Bullfrog spa and told us how well built they are. We found Spa and Patio has them here in the Villages. Put ours in a year ago and use it almost daily. Highly recommend getting your own spa.

We purchased the Bullfrog A7L spa in 2018, but we found we don’t use it much anymore. This is a six person spa with interchangeable Bullfrog “jet packs” including a lounger position. I always thought that at Southside that the scuzzy crud was from people using it after they have put on too much tanning oil. And that can clog up the filters and require maintenance.

You don't need ARC approval to put a hot tub on your lanai.

You don't need approval to place one outside of your lanai ether as long as it's not in the front of your home.

Sounds like Glen View is the only good one.

We are in Sumter County and had to get a spa permit through the county. We did not need ARC approval.

Our high school's FB page for old folks had a little thread about the swimming pool next to said school that was so popular in the summers of our youth. I commented below one of the pics that I could almost smell the chlorine. Was quite skeptical of the claim that was then made about *why* that smell might have been so noticeable at the time, so, as is my wont, I set to googlin. Uh oh. . .

I wouldn't use a public jacuzzi or hot tub

Best thing on earth is a Coleman hot tub. Google them up. They get down to about $350 on Amazon. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to put away for the summer (if you snowbird). Wayyy better than forking out $6000-$15,000 for one.

Having had an in-ground one with a pool in a previous home, I was impressed with the power of the jets and the sturdiness of the inflatable. It's like those 6-person white water river rafts, very sturdy and the sides can hold very large people sitting on the edges. Plugs right into a standard 110 outlet and heats up to 104F.

The only difference between a public hot tub and a public swimming pool is that the hot tub has a greater concentration of chlorine or other bacteria and virus killing chemical. I feel reasonably safe in a hot tub. Actually, the hot tubs in TV Land are outdoors, so personally with Covid still a small factor, I feel safer in the hot tub than I would in a public restaurant with a fairly low ceiling keeping in the exhaled air.

This is a wonderful window into the mind of some who spent the last few years hyper-alert to the (possible) threats of Covid.

There's a certain correlation that one's own observations note and of course, as is human nature, conclusions begin to be drawn.

Germaphobia, a sense of anxiety about one's personal condition, and a certain palatable fear of many things, seem to strike many of the Covid-scared-to-death. Of course, not always. I've rarely seen our past POTUS wear a mask and he is an admitted and documented germaphobe. Like I said, it's a window not a door into some minds.

To me, it is akin to those reports that determined some people who prefer to wear masks also think of themselves as unattractive so the mask serves another purpose that is less related to disease transmission and is primarily to relieve germaphobia, social-anxiety, low esteem, or low attractiveness issues (body dysmorphic disorders).

I guess I'm just noting that I have made personal observations that the above post affirms - that many who have been hyper-Covid aware tend to have other fears (germs, stale air, etc.) that some (not all) might consider irrational and the cultural zeitgeist just played into them. It certainly helps gain insight into some of the ideological differences between pro and anti mask groups.

Some countries require permit. Marion county does last time I called them when I was thinking of getting one. Also included plug and play (110V)

if it is in a birdcage, pergola, or Lanai, it is technically "inside" and doesn't need ARC approval. Correct
