Southern Oaks

Very good condition today.

Grass everywhere...............greens, fairways, roughs, tee boxes.

Not busy at all.

Less than 3 hour round for the two of us.

Large slowdown on the interstate this morning, so it wasn't as noisy as usual. :loco::loco::loco:

Do the fairways still run like you're on the interstate?

Impacted greatly by moisture..............the whole course appears to be watered nicely.

Seems to be quite a bit more grass on fairways and definitely thicker greens.

Rwirish 02-13-2024 05:59 AM

And remains totally over priced.

You have choices

Get what you pay for? Havana = lots of bare and thin spots on greens for $5 less. Given the choice, I'll take grass on the greens for a few bucks more.

You don't want to pay $70, to play a green airport, with flags stuck in the ground?

Most courses include a cart as part of the greens fees. Adding a cart fee to these overpriced greens fees is just a ripoff, posted or not.

Hey buddy !

You’re not in Kansas anymore !

Please let me know if you need a translation !! ;)

You get a discount if you’re a Villages resident !!

As a regular resident, you’ll pay $75.50

As a non-resident, you’ll pay $97

Quite the bargain, don’t you think !! LOL !!!

Where does this happen?

I've yet to find a course in the DC/MD/VA area that includes a cart...

Go to the GolfNow website. Put in your zipcode. View all the courses in your area that include a cart with the greens fee. You will be amazed. Thank me.

WharfRat 02-14-2024 04:19 AM

My strategy at this time of year is to play on local courses with good recent reviews and pay less. And it’s working!

You need to be careful with GolfNow, to determine if the price includes a Cart. Many people assume the price always include a cart, but that's not the case.

That said, the majority of courses these days, a cart is included in their standard pricing.

Don't bother................the poster knew golfing prices in TV and knew there is no discount if you BYOC.

TV is not even on the website the poster suggested.

Poster does not live here and is jus stirring the pot.

Why would they price it with a discount when literally everyone in The Villages has their own golf cart.

Do i get a discount if I bring my own golf clubs?

Agree.... At first I didn't think I would like to play the course, but then after a couple of rounds it is actually became one of my go to courses!

I sure they LOVE the fact that you supply the cart and they don't have to. Added profit dropping to the bottom line.

Should be. Use the newest grasses. Same variety as the grass at Glenview

Compared to what? Muni's in S. Florida are over $100 and as high as $175

Same grass as Riley Grove and Laurel, which are both less than 2 years old and now have mud greens.

The variety of grass is of little consequence.
